    no.

hamed fought a tuneup after barrera. after not looking that great in that fight , he knew he was done.

    that's why he quit.

from what i read he had planned to go on after the barrera loss. maybe barrera rematch , maybe morales , etc.

after he struggled a little in his tuneup fight , he knew it was best to quit.

watch his fights leading up to barrera. you can tell he wasn't at his prime anymore.

        • OMG, I just listened to this cat. If youve heard me he has said basically all the same things that Ive said about this fight. Its a 3 or 4 round fight and Pac can stop Floyd in those rounds because sometimes Floyd is jittery early like he was in the Hatton fight and Pac always starts fast. I said that Pac either has to knock him out in those first 3 or 4 rounds or he has to hurt Floyd so bad that he's dazed because even if Pac is up 3-0 or 3-1 after 4 and has landed some heavy blows, Floyd will shut him out the rest of the way. He will figure him out by that time and shut him out the rest of the fight. All of that is the worst case. Floyd could whitewash him from the jump if he's on his game and will be stalking him after 5-7 rounds just like he did all the other Southpaws. Everyone will be shocked to see him walk Pac down and punish him. However, I do say just like this guy that Pac has a real chance to knock Floyd out early. Its only a 3 or 4 round fight. Thats Pac's only chance. He has to stop Floyd, drop him, or hurt him real bad, or else the fight is over

i should have expounded my point a bit further as the situations you cited were all situations where he was, in essence, in control of the bout...by getting 'discouraged' or 'rattled', what i meant to relay was a situation in which he's not in 'full' control...you know what i mean?

he might be able to tee off and land but with the beard that PAC displayed a couple of weeks ago, it leads some to believe that no matter how much he's taking, PAC will keep engaging...and in exchanges, openings appear...what happens if in those openings, floyd himself starts taking some solid shots? for a fighter that rarely gets tagged, how does he react? does the composure remain? what if a firefight breaks out, will be equipped to maintain that type of fight?

basically, when things aren't going his way, as he's accustomed to, do we see that same poise?

i guess, that's the $65 ppv question....we'll just have to wait and see

david diaz was a tuneup. it was just a fight to get him use to 135 and to get a belt. pacquiao was not meant to move up to 140 and 147.

4 things happened totally out of top rank's control.

            1. mayweather pulled out of the delahoya fight.

            2. margarito upset cotto.

            3. hatton wanted a tuneup before fighting delahoya.

            4. pacquiao unexpectedly beat delahoya.

if mayweather hadn't pulled out of the delahoya rematch , oscar wouldn't have had to go looking for an opponent.

if margarito hadn't beaten cotto , oscar would have fought cotto.

if hatton hadn't wanted a tuneup first , it would have been ricky fighting oscar in december last year.

if pacquiao hadn't beaten delahoya , delahoya-hatton would have gone through as planned.

arum was a happy man the last 2 years.
NO WONDER ITS AT THE SAME THREAD!

Morales was shot in the first fight and still beat Packy. Was up on all the cards in the second fight prior to being stopped. Totally gone in the 3rd fight.

David Diaz, bum, journeyman paper champ.

Hatton (Ruined by Floyd jr in the ring, and by Sr. outside of it)

                  Oscar. Duh...
Cotto (clearly shot, weight drained and overtrained)

Since moving up JMM's taken on tougher fights and won them impressively.
Pacquiao = Singsurat and Torrecampo's leftovers. Pacquiao was damaged goods.

Mayweather dropped the first 2 rounds on 2 cards after getting outlanded 11-5 in power shots in first 6 minutes of the fight. At the beginning of round 3 (WHEN HE FIGURED JUDAH OUT) he outlanded Judah 153-53 in power shots. Judah landed in single digits in total connects in 10 of 12 rounds.

see what i mean...10 out of 12 rounds...meaning at the start of round 3 to the end of round 12...judah didnt land more than 9 punches a round....lol
