Ali Funeka is a fraud

Everyone in boxing makes the lowest weight they can, to have the best chance they can. It's the nature of the sport. If you eat all the name time you stay at heavyweight, otherwise you get as low as you can possibly go.
Pwill is an exception in that he will never get a big fight at 154 or lower, so he should give up.
Ali Funeka fought his heart out twice recently, and was twice robbed of a hard earned victory. He's anything but a fraud.Comment

Well not really......sure he is not breaking the rules but you can see why I and some poster have a problem with him fighting naturally smaller guys when there are weighclasses and fighters his own size to prove himself against.Another dorky ass hater complaining about something that's perfectly legit and legal. Because he's 6'1 and has a naturally lean body, he should be forced to bulk up and fight at 154? Or Paul Williams should have to fight at 175? That's bull****, and you are dumb for suggesting that what these fighters do isn't perfectly natural and acceptable.Comment

If he can make weight then he should fight there. Not only can you believe he fought at 112 before?Guzman wins easly on the rematch if one happens the only reason Guzman did bad was because the broken nose and cut on the eye due to the headbutt and the layoff.I hate when these tall ass fools live on oatmeal to make weight in a division where they can use their over all length. You guys have no idea how much of an advantage it is when you have huge height and reach advantage against a similar level fighter. It is much harder to fight an opponent that you have to punch upwards with and that has alot of reach on you because you have to stretch out your body alot. Both Campbell and Guzman got exhausted fighting this fucking tree because the punching to get to his mummy looking ass is exhausting. Trust me ive been in the ring with the same size difference. And even when working the mits and my trainer is making me reach out like a mofo to hit the mits its exhausting. Lets see what funeka would do skill 4 skill. You can get 2 fighters in the ring with the same exact conditioning and stamina, but I guarantee you that the one with the 7 inch height advantage will have the upper hand. I commend Guzman for the heart he showed and for even taking the fight with this redwood. I would love to see what Funeka could do against a tall welter weight like Williams, they are both the same except Williams actually moved up to a formidable weight(because he was forced to, apperanlt all the welter weights that were 8 inches shorter than him were cowards for not fighting him). Guys like this dont trust their skill level enought to pair it up against some one with out a reach disadvantage.Comment

He makes the weight and he LOOKS like the type that could eat a horse and gain a pound. Some people are just made that way.
No one ever tells a taller fighter to move up if his 'advantage' becomes a hinderance when people smother his arms/punches. Only if the guy uses his advantage correctly.
Why? Because, unlike speed or power, being tall is visible at ALL times. Therefore, people pick at it.
With the right style, a tall guy can have his advantage used against him rather easily. Guzman did it before the unintentional foul and Campbell did it throughout the fight.Comment

I am 6ft 2in and I am around 154lb, i am thin even when I lift weights I still look fairly thin. Funeka is clearly not big built if he went to say 175lb even though he is similar height to some in the division the extra weight on his thin bone structure would look awful and affect his performance.Comment

He tried to fight Clottey just here recently, and Clottey turned him down. Collazo was also offered a fight at one time and didn't want any. Dan Rafael even said he priced himself out. Berto's promoter Lou Dibella said he's too big to fight Berto. So what's a guy to do?Comment

I hate when tall guys do that too, I also hate when naturally bigger guys kill themselves in training to get down to a weight so they can have a strength and size advantage, that is what happens in almost every fight, same day weigh ins would put a stop to this crap.I hate when these tall ass fools live on oatmeal to make weight in a division where they can use their over all length.
