i do not ask god and pray for victory though. because i think if i am asking god for victory it is same thing as asking god to make sure my opponent loses and god does not operate that way. i ask god for guidance and protection. i ask him to look over me as i compete and to continue to give me the chance to tell anyone who will listen how great my god is.

    peace and god bless

Two sentences that contradict each other.
How did i contradict man. imposing on someone would be tying them down and making them listen. but if believe god is great and want to tell you it is up to you whether you want to listen or not. you are free not to listen to me and walk away just like i am free to tell you i love being a christian. i can spread my faith and chritianity just by being a good person and walking in step with jesus not even by talking.

Interesting Dawkins clip, but I believe Christopher Hitchens is more eloquent and witty in expressing the same viewpoint, and a better debater to boot. Check out his clips and writings.

Of course Pacquiao is probably the most prominent boxer now who regularly refers to a god, again conditioned under the Christian religion.

With many religious precepts now debunked by science, more and more people are beginning to realize that all religions are likely to be purely superstition, with no real evidence to support them other than a collection of far-fetched stories which compare quite readily to any other work of fiction.

Is it time that boxers leave religion out of the ring for good?

Interesting interview on the "god delusion" psychological condition:

The thing that I don't get about you atheists is that you're so concerned in people believing in something that you don't believe exists. If you don't believe in God why should you care what other people think?

Why has God made me an atheist?

Don't you argue boxing opinions with people who disagree with you and try to convince them that you're right from time to time? It's not that different. It's a matter of clarifying or arguing out your position on the universe and not the particular boxer/puncher or upcoming fight, but otherwise the motivation is identical.

                  Christian V Atheist ...

If God is with the religious fighter, is it fair to say that he has an unfair advantage?

Did Andre Ward beat Kessler due to an unfair advantage? He claims God was on his side ...

If so, should he be banned and branded a cheat like other fighters who gain an unfair advantage through, for example performance enhancing drugs or illegal hand wraps?

Reminds me of Roach when he said "I think God has more important things to do than watch a boxing match" regarding Manny praying in the ring.. Well Im a non-believer but that doesn't mean others shouldn't thank God etc.. for a victory if they feel they were divinley helped..
