I'm far from a religious man, but if religion gives the fighters' strength and belief, well then good for them.

They're the ones going through long grueling training camps, getting punched in the face, and putting their lives at risk.

So if they feel that religion motivates them and helps them, then they can mention it. Just because it's boring for interviews or doesn't make sense to others, it doesn't mean they shouldn't bring it up.

If god is on your side you are always a winner. I just dislike the fact that the fact your religion gets you a title shot like foreman. They kept referring to Jim as the ***ish kid from Israel.

I did answer your question in an earlier post. I said READ beyond your current education level.

It says in the bible God REGRETTED creating the world because men were evil, and wanted to destroy it as a bad mistake, but was convinced not to out of compassion to the few good people in it. This is just a VERY BASIC Judaic and Christian understanding. Of course a deeper theological understanding is much more complex, but basically denying gods existence merely because of the existence of evil is very illogical, and has no basis in sound reasoning, and if you can't understand that, then you really need to better educate yourself - so try reading some things that are not written by angry athiests for a change.

As for PRAISE, that is a matter of personal choice. YOU CHOOSE.

            answer the question.

So far, every single one of you has failed to do so.

Why should God get the praise for the good, but not the blame for the bad?

Its what we ask of all responsible adults, be accountable for your actions whether good or bad.

            Answer the question.

Very well said, and very true.

Couldn't agree more. It's ****** and makes no sense; if god helped you win, that means he made the other guy lose. ****** and contradictory. It's like Jesus Shuttlesworth said in He Got Game "You never hear talk about Jesus in the loser's locker room, they're probably cursing that mother ****er out!"

This is called Pascal's wager, and it makes no sense. What if you're wrong about every other god that humans have ever conjured? Christianity isn't the only religion out there...

So? It's not our job to prove there is no god; the burden of proof lies on the accuser. Can you prove there is no Santa Clause?

No it isn't. Hard work through training, nutrition, and practice is what makes a good boxer a good boxer; not believing in god, praying, or going to church.

                  Answer the question.

God is God whatever he does he's still God, he still created everything. ur still just a mere human and he's still God. read the story of Job in the old testament. he asks the same questions ur asking and God totally pwns him.

luckily for us though, God is not some kid with a magnifying glass who just uses us and tortures us for his amusement.
God loves us and he sent his own son to
-live the perfect life we couldnt live
-die the death the we deserved
-and rise again so that although we'll all die we'll someday rise again and live with him forever. no more death, pain, suffering, evil..

all you gotta do is believe and let him be God of ur life.

I do not think people are advocating a law or rule against it, but *I* do not believe religion should be invoked because *I* don't want to hear preaching. It's similar to pontificating but not quite as obnoxious. To me religion is a private, personal thing. I have my faith and I do not share it with others. I do not condone evangelism and I do not want to have it from others.

Furthermore, what's with this absurdity that God is watching over one individual and not the other? What makes one person more deserving? By the by, not every boxer lives in a country where speech is uncensored.

No. I'm not religious myself, at all, but I think people should be allowed to freely practice their religion provided they aren't violent with it. If these boxers are believers and want to thank God for giving them their opportunities, I see absolutely no problems with it.
