Quick, someone name me a full-fledged welterweight that eats six meals and five protein shakes a day just to come up 3 pounds short (144) of the 147 pound limit at the weigh-in.

      I'll wait.

Oh I agree with you about the catch weight BS, they need to leave that shyt alone. But don't pretend he's a full-fledged welter either.

first of all, pacman would beat youre ass from here to memphis, calling other fighters ***** is only applicable if you yourself are willing to get in their and take a beating and hold them to it. second of all, it was smart for a couple of reasons, but most notably, was it ***** for floyd to pay marquez extra money not to come in at 144 or was it smart so he wouldnt be draining himself and take something away from himself? get a ****in grip

PAC weighed 142lbs against Cotto a few weeks ago I can loose 4 lbs taking a **** in the mroning. Please 138-142 he weighed I 148lbs on fight night against ODLH. He is a legit WW because he probably walks around at 145-150lbs. He is not so small as you think and people should stop talking about he is the smaller man blah blah blah. Tyson was smaller in every fight he fought at HW but did anyone say oh TYSON is the smaller man blah blah blah. Nah he was knocking muths fcukers out left and right so no one claimed he was the smaller man. There wa no catch weights involed nor did he fights guys that were under a certain hieght if you were a HW TYSON was out there for you....PAC is a WW Title Holder and the P4P Champion right now. he should be open to fight anyone from 140-147lbs....Lefty

At what weight does Cotto walk around? How about Clottey? Margarito? Shane? Berto?

                Thanks for playing.

Pac came into the ring at 149 vs. Cotto.

Against Funeka, Guzman came into the ring at.......yup, 149.

Guzman must be a full-fledged welter.

can't compare a HW (tyson )to a jr WW (pac).

did you know he was only 138 lbs against hatton just last spring tho?

Now people can speculate all they want about Cotto, but the truth of the matter is Pac was simply a stronger/faster/fresher fighter that night. My sole point is, I don't think there is any difference as to what Pac does in 145 to 147. Cotto was competitive in the first 5 rounds or so...but Pac became the stronger fighter as the fight progressed.

I'd would be dissappointed if Pac's next fight (or two) remains in a "mannyweight". Then one can argue that he has not fought at welterweight. As of right now...Cotto was the closest, truest welterweight Pac fought, that did not make any excuses about the weight.
And you make a great point Pac tore his ass up all damn night with no problem my point is they throw these catch weights not cuz THEY CANT MAKE THE OFFICAL WEIGHT but to giving them the advantage by draining a little more out of their opponents... Oscar prime example, believe me a few pounds can kill a motha****a but I dont take anything from Manny but I do feel he needs to cut the bull**** with these catch weights... I didnt see fighters like Sugar Ray Robinson moving up in weight asking for catch weights
