I am a fan of the Klit bros, but i dont let that affect my judgement into bias, i try to call things fairly.... for instance, unless there's proof that wlad was drugged, i think that he just got tired and loss... but here are some other random thoughts from things I keep reading in this forum...
wlad does/does not deserve a title shot?
i'm in the middle on this.... if you look at his recent losses(brewster/sanders) and his recent wins, you would have to say no he doesn't deserve a title shot... but then take a look at what ruiz did prior to his first title shot, who did he beat? who did brewster beat to deserve his shot? who did golota, mccline or fres beat? take that into consideration with wlad's previous wins over mccline and byrd and you have to admit that he deserves it as much as all the other guys who are getting title shots..
VK the top heavyweight?
he does have the 2 losses to lewis and byrd, despite the debated outcomes.... ruiz has 5 losses(to some lesser opponents) and byrd also has two losses... more importantly however, VK is winning decidedly, Byrd is not.... byrd has eaked out 3 str8 close decisions while VK has 3 str8 KO's.... meanwhile, ruiz has a KO over fres and close dec. over golota, but nobody was impressed with ruiz in either fight... plus you could argue VK has faced better comp recently... fres and golota have never beaten anyone decent, while sanders and williams have beaten tyson and wlad... lasty, the PPV featuring VK sold as many buys as the PPV featuring ruiz, byrd and rahman... while neither PPV did well, it goes to show that ruiz and byrd have no drawing power and maybe an indication that few people see them as the real heavyweight champion...
i dont think its definitive that VK is #1, until he beats ruiz and byrd, so i can understand if anybody doesnt feel that way and thinks someone else is the top guy... but i agree with magazine, the only official rankings that haven't been bought, vk is on top right now....
