Right now, probably not. The elite fighters that would of give him a fight are out of their prime and because of the drop in talent in Boxing i believe Mayweather might be the only true elite fighter left around today.

I dont consider Hopkins at the elite level anymore because his psychical cant back him up anymore, thats why he loses to fighters like Calzaghe & Taylor but he still has elite Boxing skills to school a few people.

Jones, Mosley are well past their sell by date regardless of Shane's win over Marg.

DLH was no where near the fighter that fought Shane Mosley when he fought Mayweather.

Forrest is not with us anymore RIP, he would of been too old in anycase imo.

Tito is done, Quartey is gone.

I feel the all these fighters would of given Mayweather a helluva run for his money in their prime, particularly Forrest.

I cant see say Paul Williams because he had only beaten an old Wink and he has been beaten by Quintana regardless of the rematch.

the people saying cotto are out of your minds.

floyd would have painted cotto with ease and the fight would have been stopped by TKO by the 7th

PW is the guy i see as the biggest threat to may, but i still think Floyd could pull of a Decision

i had a huge discussion about this about 6 or 7 months ago, most of the respected posters on here generally agreed, guys like hopkins/toney/calderon etc, guys who do this sport in their sleep and know all of the little tricks that have extended their careers long past their prime are now leaving it.

The Cotto before the Margarito fight had a good chance of causing Floyd problems, the Cotto of today has no chance, he is pretty much shot as a top tier fighter now, not as shot as Hatton is tho lulz but Margarito gave him a terrible beating with those "cement wraps" that he might of "HAD".

Mayweather's activity in a fight is proportional to his oponent activity.

For each 1.6 punches he throws 1.0 punch back.

He is also very sharp with an impressive 10% more sharpness than the 'mark' considered 'good'. And he does an impressive thing with his defense, making his opponentes being 20% less sharper than usual.

Doing that he secure safe wins against almost everybody.

not even man, Just cause he has a loss to the GREAT Manny Pacquiao doesnt mean anything.

Skill wise? Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao are equally talented, The defining factor was who could take whos punches better, obviously Pacquiao had the stronger chin which ended up being the huge difference.

Mayweather doesnt have the ability or will to take a beating like Margarito and Pacquiao did in order to give damaging blows. WHICH IS THE BEST MEDICINE FOR COTTO, a Mayweather fight.

We already saw teh 2 best WWs go at it in probably the most active and talented fight ive seen in a long time. Manny pacquiao and Miguel Cotto. IE teh only two fighters who can beat Mayweather

Mate there is no question in my mind that whilst the globalization of Boxing has kind help rejuvenate interest in the sport, the decline in American talent has diluted the product imo. I see some fighters like Juanma, Gamboa maybe!!!! being able to bridge the gap in time but i dont see no Pernell Whitaker, Holyfield capable of fighting for the World title after less than 16 fights, being able to take the title from seasoned vets of the caliber of Qawi & JLR, even though i know Pea did not win the title there(robbery)

Like most posters here, pac or williams. IMO, Pbf's defense eats conventional fighters.

I like William's chances against Floyd better because of his height and reach advantage, workrate and power.

cotto is a good fighter but hes not great...by anymeans

floyd would hit him like throwing rocks at the side of a barn. floyd would win a TKO faster than pac did
