Why was Marquez-Pacquiao II so close?

JMM was sharp that night against another ATG. In my opinion he beat Pacquiao, but at this point he won't give Pac problems again.

Depends in the weight at 140, he does up until Manny times him and figures out what he is doing wrong (allowing Marquez to trouble him) at 140+...not at all.

I think it was a mix between both,Pac wasnt too comfy at the weight at the time,but still,Marquez was at his perfect weight,and was SHARP,was in great shape and gave Pac two hard fights,but if they where to fight today,at LW,Pac would win by TKO imo

Combination of Marquez skills and a lack of skills on Pac's side at the time. Pac has become a much better fighter since then.

weight drained is bull****..the first fight was a draw was he drained then??the fight was close because it was between 2 prime atg fighters...jmm is pacmans frazier..they can fight 100 times and imo it will always be close...jmm is tough and you aint gonna ko him and since pacman is a come foward aggresive fighter jmm counter punching style will always be effective
