David Haye - "this will not be a fight but a massacre"

Seriously Hopkins is out of his damn mind if he thinks he stands a chance against haye, one punch is all it will take and hopkins will be hospitalised because Hayes speed and power is at least 5 times more than pavliks.

And if bhop pulled it off it would be a great win maybe his best win.

No doubt, I think he has nothing to lose at all, if you think about his age compared to Roy Jones when he became the HW champion.

There's no question as it stands now. This would just be crazy.
I tend not to listen to internet threads by arm chair critics that try to break down great fighters that come before their favorite fighters accomplishments.

It would be tough but if he does it the right way I'd love to see it...

Haye hasn't really done much at heavyweight tho but regardless it'd be a significant feat if Bernard beat him...

hopkins has no chance of beating haye imo. you could clearly see in his last 3 fights his reflexes slowed down alot, and his legs are all but shot. he can still win fights with skills and smarts, but not against a HW of hayes standard. a few years back there was talk of BHop taking on maskaev, thats a winnable fight. but haye is too skilled and too fast, he will get to hopkins at some stage and when he does its all over. doesnt even have to be clean, just touching him will make hopkins break down. no way he can stay in there for 12 rounds with haye.

I don't agree with the 'folks' who state Hopkins does not have a chance.

I don't think Hopkins is crazy at all. At present he is one of the very few boxers, who understand the 'game / art' of the sport. Yes, he is potentially taking upon a huge 'risk' at his age, but to call him crazy, no.

                    It will be a 50 - 50 fight.

                    - youth versus experience

You also have to ask yourself, who has Hopkins fought that was not powerful, young, hungry and seeking to knock him out?

Then ask, who has Haye fought, who was a complete 'ring master', defensive genius and professor of the sport of boxing?

If this fight ever took place, I know Hopkins would be considered a huge underdog, which is understandable ... however, I see Bernard edging this one out.

Hopkins is only chasing a paper legacy at this time. Otherwise a rematch with the much declined RJJ would have zero "credibility" and neither would fighting a blown up cruiserweight holding a meaningless belt.

Roy's run-behind-the-referree-after-every-clinch win over John Ruiz is just as "real"

Haye should have known there was a hidden agenda towards Golden Boy signing him.

Anyone else notice that last night on HBO when they did a profile of all the young talent, they actually showed video of David Haye, although he hasn't fought on their network yet? He fought Valuev on an independent PPV as well as Barrett and fought Maccarinelli on Showtime. HBO is basically just the pay carrier of Golden Boy anymore and they will undoubtedly overhype Haye as heavyweight champion of the world.
