Ali was a classic example of great athlete/crap person. Basically it was a case of being a typical racist (yes every race has it's racists). Plus he was not the brightest bulb in the house and he was heavily influenced in some of his his foolish sayings by the nation of Islam.Comment

I didn't base my opinion off Thrilla in Manilla documentary. I like to read and watch everything that has to do with boxing, so I have seen more than enough to form an opinion. Good job in jumping to conclusion btw.Neither do you,are you honestly ****** enough to believe that you know the entire story because you watched the thrilla in manila documentary? because I would be willing to guess that is where got most of your information from.
Frazier was hardly a nice guy and was hardly respectful of Ali himself, and has shown himself to be as cruel as Ali,he himself has admitted to trashing opponents,he even called buster Mathis an uncle tom did Frazier.
Are you somehow implying that it is Ali's fault that Frazier wasted all his millions?
Also you need to re-read the couple of post I typed in here. Never once did I take a side, but rather, I stated that in ways Ali was wrong and in ways Frazier was wrong. There is more to the story than the casual fan or guy who watches a documentary or two would know about. Again both were in the wrong for some of there comments, and if someone calls them out on it then I have no issue.
For example, as mentioned prior, Frazier made the comment "You tell me who won, look at him now and look at me". No if and's or but's about it, that **** was low and if someone said **** Frazier for it, that person has every right to bash Joe for that comment.Last edited by Khalid X; 11-28-2009, 01:10 PM.Comment

There's two sides to Ali. One is the good side and the other is the bad one.
He said some things that went beyond the line but he also did a lot of good. He was genuinely a good person.
When he first became a Black ******, it was because of the racism that white America had showed to black people. It was understandable that he was angry. In fact, he once stated that, after he won his gold medal in the 1960 Olympic Games, he went into a restaurant to order something but they refused to serve him. Keep in mind that it was after he had just gone to represent his country and won a gold medal for them.
Still, though. Ali was a generally a good person and didn't necessarily hate white people. He just wanted to be apart from them. It cooled down later on, though, when he converted to Sunni Islam.
I don't think he was entirely a racist. He had racist motives but was still kind to white people, as many were to him.Comment

Who the hell said it was Frazier fault? Not me.This game of "who was right, who was wrong" is childish as hell and I don't need to watch one documentary to educate me on a topic, and I'm not ****** to believe everything that some documentary tells me either.

So because I didn't agree with your troll thread, then I am wrong and you are right?
If anyone here is being close minded here, then it is you.Your entire knowledge of this topic comes from one documentary which makes you so ignorant of the topic.
Ali had changed his name two years prior to when Frazier went out of his way to start to antagonise all by calling him Clay.
Why should Frazier be excused for acting as childish and confrontational as Ali was?Comment
