just go for broke and either win or lose it here and now.

who knows? one lucky punch and he could have sparked pac out.

I understand but after 8th rd i don't think cotto knew where he was at, who was in his corner, etc, etc. I remember fighting in early 80's and getting beat so bad that i thought my trainer was fighting me in ring. Some fighters start bugging and i think cotto is one of those fighters that bug out when faced with losing a fight. Remember, before pac he has only lost once and never been ko'd.

I once saw a guy tackle the ref after getting up from a knockdown.

santiago should have stopped the fight earlier.

i heard miguel's dad wanted to throw in the towel but the other guys in the corner talked him out of it.

No silver gloves because i was 16 and silver gloves was for 10-15 yrs old. I boxed 16-17 yrs old. I remember seeing this kid who was beating everyone around me and he knocked out my boy in 5 seconds and became the gold gloves champ in 1980....mark breland. Breland was nice but just did not have it in him to have a very good boxing career.

Ha, but Breland was a pretty good pro too. He won the belts.
He wasn't what was expected, but after he completely destroyed everyone in the ams, the expectations were too great IMO.

I asked about silver gloves because I was famous for taking the most punches from a champ in one round at the tender age of 13 because I was doing really well in sparring, then I got the lesson of my life.
=. It's on video too.. my dad and my uncles would sit around and watch it while giggling.... he he he in front of numerous family members every once in a blue moon.

Heard the same. Santiago is cotto's friend, should not be training cotto but ok training a boxer just starting out. Cotto made alot of mistakes in pac fight.
                1. Fighting pac too early after clottey
                2. Hiring Santiago as trainer for a fight this big.
                3. Fighting pac at his own game.

Cotto needs to look himself in mirror and ask himself if he still want to fight. Also, cotto needs to realize he may never beat pac or margarito and accept it. I still think he can beat berto or mosley.

I was doing ok until i met this kid from brooklyn who was very, very good and i kept telling my dad that the kid was good and 10 seconds into fight kid knocks me out like when Diaz got ko'd by marquez. I was enjoying it until 3 fights before that fight and kept telling my dad that i did not want to continue but he kept pressing me and 3 fights late that kid made it official. My dad and i kept the boxing from my mom. Could not do it after that fight when i got home all messed up. Both my dad and i got punished...lol
