Class act...Even though he was never a P4P guy, and wasn't the best 140lb'r of the last 10 or 15 years, he still remains one of my all time favorites. Will also be remebered for showing us Zab Judah's greatest ever dance moves.

There are more boxers deserving of such title, and if he is the benchmark of being a legend then you've lost me, sorry.
iv said it before and ill say it again, kostya tszyu was 1 of the best, if not the best light welterweight this planet has ever seen.

Kostya is a class act, I saw him at the pacquiao fight and he had a beer in his hand,I asked him u going to get in the ring again and he said in a real thick accent "if the money is right, I will.",no one around me recognized him and then they asked me who is he? I said in my best Roger voice ,u don't know **** bout boxing .. that Is kotsya tszyu, he still had the trademark ponytail.he looked pretty big (weight) like at least 160...

Aaron Pryor was better than Tzsyu as well.

Tszyu was a legend. ..look at his resume, be beat and KO'd about 10 World Champions.

I can't even remember the last time that a fighter went after the other champions in the division and KTFO'd them to become undisputed champ....yes guys, ask yourself that "when did a guy last go out and take on the other champs and KTFO them?"...

That is what makes him a legend.

His resume was better than Calzaghe's, that's for sure. But I'm just saying that a lot of the guys he beat were on the down slide of their career and he lost to Vince Phillips. I would've picked Mosley, De La Hoya, and maybe even some of the guys at 135 like Johnston and Castillo to beat him. He established a strong resume by being dominant at 140 though. Tszyu's win over Vernon Forrest in the olympics looks pretty impressive though. Maybe he would've fared better against those guys that I mentioned than I give him credit for.

Never a P4P guy? He was in The Ring TOP10 P4P for most of his career. H2H I would put Oscar and Mosley ahead of him but Oscar had only 3 fights and Mosley 0 at the weight. Certainly the most accomplished 140 pounder after Chavez. Tszyu was a TOP10 rated jr. welterweight in his first year as a proffesional. That is just sick.

Johnston would get slaughtered (5′ 5″ southpaw) and Castillo looked average when he moved up in weight but no lightweight even considered moving up after Tszyu destroyed the highly regarded Miguel Angel Gonzalez who was the top lightweight for several years and dropped a decision in a competitive fight with De La Hoya who was a beast at the lower weights. De La Hoya and Mosley would beat him by TKO in the later rounds or a decision. His boxing ability and overall quality are underrated these days.

Hatton pasted him, get over it.
