floyd sr. always struck me as someone with a far below 100 IQ... but I dont know what his BOXING IQ is... supposedly hes a decent trainer... so the few brain cells he has are optimized for boxing, i guess? ...

LOL, "Its just mitt work", it matters. Everything a fighter does in camp revolves around the style of your opponent. How to attack it, how to defend it.

Yeah...agree...it doesn't make sense that you would stick to an orthodox stance when your opponent is a southpaw.

              This is interesting.
I wonder what Roger did when preparing Floyd for Corley, Mitchell and Judah.

I'm not saying that just because we catch Floyd Sr in the wrong stance that it was like that the whole time.

But, considering the fighter he was training(not the brightest of the bunch).

I don't think it would have mattered because Hatton didn't listen to anything Sr. said anyway once the bell rang. He was what he was...no changing that. And Pac, the better fighter, was on a seek and destroy mission.

Sr. did get props from Chad Dawson in his biggest win of his career when he fought Adamek which also might be his best performance to date.

Maybe Sr. doesn't know how to train for a southpaw.

Wasn't there something about Sr. not wanting Jr. to fight a southpaw?
I remember hearing something about that but from posters but never heard it from Sr. himself.

                  Don't know.

That KO was an "OOOOOOOOOOOOH...SHIIIIIIIIT" moment for me watching that fight/KO.

One of the best KO's I've ever seen....as well as one of the best performances in a title fight.
