Forget that though, and answer the question.

Do you think Cotto is a real Warrior??
most boxers are, including mayweather (although he's lost the hunger to keep on proving himself)

having the balls to get in a ring knowing you're gonna get hit hard takes a lot, surely you wouldn't understand

you don't have to be gatti, corrales, ward, castillo, morales, barrera, marquez, etc to be a "warrior"

he gave up against tony because he had nothing left. there's no shame in that. he ran from pacquiao because he's mentally broken and it showed. full credit to pacquiao for beating a strong and healthy cotto, but he doesn't have the mindset he had before he fought tony. that doesn't make him a no heart quitter though, as you're suggesting in this and other threads (even when you're not responding to anyone)

Check this..Hear the opinion of a neutral observer and not a fanboy..Here we go.

He just came out of a quit after the Margo fight, how blatant would it look if he quit against Clottey also?? Besides how many fights have you witnessed where someone was cut and didn't continue fighting?
Cotto had another reason to keep on going till the 12th btw.,,He was guaranteed a UD if he reached the 12th round regardless if he won or not. Did you see the scorecards how one sided they were in Cotto's favor?? There was no way the fight was that one sided..In my eyes it was pretty close..Even Max Kellerman mentioned that there was no way that the fight could have been scored so one-sided

The reason he didn't quit against Pac: First of all the guy was getting 30 Mill$ and it wouldn't been very pleasant to quit and embarrass the fans who bought his fight right? He at least owed you that after failing to keep his word and get crushed by a smaller guy who he sweared he was going to crush. How would it have look if added to that humiliation by quiting also? It would have scarred him for life and emberased you as fans.. I'm guessing he started to run and avoid further punishment until the 12th.

He would have gotten full credit for not quitting if he stood there and really fought for 12 rounds, not fight for 4 rounds and run for 8....Or better yet, he would have won mines and I'm sure a lot of other's hearts if he stood there and tried to knock Pac out even if it meant he could have risked getitng knowcked out himself....That's the true definitionm of a warrior.

I'm sorry but Cotto is not a warrior and I'm not trying to rub this in anyone's face. It's just the releastic truth.

A guy who quits once, and runs against a smaller guy who he could have chose to fight, is not exactly a Warrior.

Imagine how bad it would have looked if Morales ran against Pacquiao in their second and third fight? Morales was the same size as pac and he ****** his heart out..That's who i consider a warrior not Cotto

Dude...that's how they make their money..That's what they train 4 months straight for. It's part of their job. The term Warrior is a special term which is earned in boxing, it's not just given out to anybody who steps in the ring.

I'm tired of everybody using this excuse. I didn't call him a *****. I asked if he was a true warrior.

Sorry bro, but they don't sound like words which describe a True Warrior to me...

:Leaves thread, because people who claim they know things know nothing at all, and never been in a boxing ring in thier lives:

Don't question someone else's heart when you haven't even proven yours.

STFU and stay to being a fanboy.. Something that you will always be, because you don't have the unique ability to be a fighter at all.. Yet.. A great fighter.

          Move along.

it wasn't an UD, it was split and close. the biggest margin was 116-111, which wasn't realistic in a fight like that, but isn't one sided anyway

check your facts before you make yourself look like well... what you have proven yourself to be several times

better yet, try stepping into a ring someday, with headgear, cup, 16oz gloves and all the protection and try to last 4 rounds against a pretty decent AM fighter going hard against you. come back here and lets see who you'd call a no heart quitter

you just dissected part of my post and answered it to **** on a guy who's had the best level of comp on his division for years because he lost a questionable fight and lost to a better fighter?

you laid the hater's blueprint in that reply. the sad part is that you deny that you're a hater. as i said, there's no point in arguing with a kid posting random crap on a forum and calling names on a gutsy fighter, especially when he hasn't gotten into a ring even to fight with pillows

i'm done with you hater, get back at me when you get into a ring, i'm sure you'll have a change of heart when it comes to calling a world class fighter a no heart quitter. god bless

Cotto is a great fighter, no need to diss a great boxer like him.

My fault about that, yea it was a Split decision but it was clearly scored beforehand.. There was no way a legit judge would have scored that a 116-111 [QUOTE=fdotorres;6795985]

better yet, try stepping into a ring someday, with headgear, cup, 16oz gloves and all the protection and try to last 4 rounds against a pretty decent AM fighter going hard against you. come back here and lets see who you'd call a no heart quitter
I've been in a ring before and I plan on stepping it again on the 2010 Ny golden gloves..

I'll tell you what though. If I do ever make it far... I don't care how big the fight is or how much money it's involved and how many fans are depending on me, I'm never going to quit or run away from any opponent no matter how big or small.

And Certainly I'm not going to use an excuse like "I had to quit it for my family"

I know this is the internet and no1's words matter much, and I know what you're about to say"Internet talk" and stuf, but that's something I strongly believe in... to never give up.

                  Goodnight

To close this thread with a post which describes Cotto's heart level among great fighters.

Fighter's like Morales, Barrera, Pacquiao, Gatti, Jake Lamotta , Vazquez, Marquez have heart.

Fighter's like Cotto have just enough heart to not be called cowards.

                    Take care!

Awesome video and tribute. Cotto will be back, stronger and better. But he needs a new trainer, i'm hoping he gets Roach.
