Pacquiao skipped 2 weight classes to fight De La Hoya before anyone knew that Oscar would come in dehydrated. His first fight at 140 was a Hatton that had dominated Malignaggi. And next fight was Cotto.

Mayweather was criticized for more than a year for not facing Cotto. He even retired instead of facing the winner of Cotto-Margarito. Nuff said.
