Well Pac fought a better version of JMM than what Floyd did...

And Floyd fought a smaller older JMM which was looked as mismatch going in, while Pac fought a bigger, younger Cotto which was looked as a 50/50 fight going in...

It's not the failure to knock him out. As you say, JMM is tough. It's that Floyd did not try to knock him out. He went into a defensive shell, pot shotted for 12 rounds, made a much smaller guy do all the chasing. It was a very professional performance, but Mayweather wants us to believe he is one of the greatest of all time, and a professional performance against a smaller guy isn't good enough for that acclaim.
