why didnt he fight williams in december then pavlik is going to have to prove himself again by not only fighting williams but also going up in weight and fight abraham as of now his credibility is on the way down
He wanted to take Williams on Dec 19th, but Williams wanted Dec 5th for a money-making double-header card instead. Pavlik wasn't going to be cleared for that date.
As bitter as I am with Kelly Pavlik, I guess he does have a point when he says this fight was set up last year and it seemed like Williams was the one who got cold feet. That is why whenever Paul Williams fights Kelly Pavlik and beats him, it isn't going to mean as much as when it did when Pavlik was undefeated and seemed to have a confident swagger.
Pavlik is delusional from the booze. The guy is finished. HE pulled out last year to take on Hopkins for more money. I guess people don't remember Williams' interview a week after the Hopkins fight or Arum the week before saying Haymon asked for too much compensation. Top Rank walked away, not Team Williams. Most saw it as an excuse to keep Cotto away from Paul. Williams was a WW at the time. Pavlik is shook. He will fight a bum so he can keep his title but he was near-death a day before. Winky Wright today would school him forget Williams or Martinez. He beat a guy that has been knocked out consecutively since and Miranda. Wow. He ducked Abraham and has ducked anybody of note. He is like JCC Jr. and is being cottled by Arum. He's not a champ, unless we are talking paper phonies. He should retire. He's finished. The only reason he fought Hopkins was because Team Pavlik thought Bernard was washed up after his lackluster performances vs. Calzaghe and Wink. He's a Top Rank hype job. A robot that throws a 1-2 and has pop. That's about it. And he has drank himself out of relevancy to the point where Ohio doesn't even give a **** about him. Paul is going to WW after he fights Martinez. If Mosley grows some balls and pulls his skirt down.

WBO/WBC middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik makes his return on December 19 in his hometown of Youngstown, Ohio. Pavlik defends his title against heavy underdog Miguel Espino. Finally recovered from a staph infection on his left hand, Pavlik is taking his return very seriously and moved the training from camp Youngstown to Las Vegas. [details]
why on earth would Pavlik call out guys like Williams or Martinez.. he should call out Sturm or Mundine ya know other titleholders. guess he is probably annoyed at the accusation that he ducked Williams. I honestly think its an easy fight for him if he is in top shape.

Your posts are biased and predictable like the rest of these posters who hate on Paul Williams.
I'm not with Pavlik on this one. He can put it however he likes, he messed up the fight date more than once. Paul's coming up from 147. It may not be a simple thing, but he hasn't been the easiest guy to get a fight with. Abraham couldn't get one. Williams knows I wanted to fight him? Even if it's true, it doesn't look like it. He's good to fight some nobody on Dec. 19 but not Dec. 5 with Paul. Even if it's because he's not at his best or he needed that time, he didn't take the fight with Paul. He should stop talking and if he beats the Williams-Martinez winner, people will respect that. It still doesn't seem like he has his mind right to me, though. Hope he gets it together.
