Stieglitz vs Miranda Heads To Magdeburg, Germany

Itīs official: WBO super middleweight champ Robert Stieglitz defends the title January 9 at the Boerdeland Hall in Magdeburg, Germany, against Edison Miranda. Itīs a tought first defense for Robert and an exciting matchup between two fighters who promised a lot early on, came close but failed at the highest level - even if Stieglitz beat Karoly Balzsay to win a world title - he still lost to Alejandro Berrio in an attempt to win the IBF title and got stopped by Librado Andrade in a IBF eliminator. Miranda got partly robbed and partly blew it himself in the first fight against Arthur Abraham and itīs been downhill since until recently when he relocated to California to be trained by Joe Goossen. As for La Pantera, I'm glad he's getting this chance. He talks a lot of trash but he is a nice kid that has overcome A LOT in his life. Met him and his team once and it was all
humility on his part. The trash, I believe, is equal parts marketing ploy and confidence in himself and the life he comes from.

Stieglitz' promoters must be confident. Miranda actually had some decent movement in his last fight. He looked like the version that beat Eastman again.

He fell in love with his power, if Goossen took that away, Miranda could be taking that title away.

But he's a good puncher and Miranda doesn't have an iron chin, so who knows.
