Why doesn't size matter in HW division?

    think of it this way. a guy who weighs 118 pounds is gonna have a harder time hurting a guy that is 148 when compared to a 200lb man's chances of knocking out someone that is 230, despite the equal weight disparities.


    look at gatti vs baldomir. very, very few 140 lb fighters would have been able to walk through the artillery gatti was landing, yet baldomir shrugged them off like love taps. that's what USUALLY happens when a blown up fighter faces an opponent who is naturally larger-framed that is able to make a COMFORTABLE weight cut.

      At heavyweights 3 lbs is a lot less % difference than at 130 for example. Also at heavyweight you can have an advantae by being smaller because someone at 250 may be a lot slower than 220.
