Thing is they can charge a lot more for tickets in vegas than in Dallas

Personally i think a big stadium doesn't have the right atmosphere for boxing, the ring is too small for the stadium

Pac and May are used to fighting in Vegas, why create a different environment which may affect their performance ?

Why the fight is going to happen in Vegas

The casino's will pay for the site fee, the high rollers will be flown in and the top tickets will be purchased by the casino's over the face value. They would have a ton of arena's in LV showing the fight on closed circut TV charging $50 a head. And the less amount of people that are the in the arena, the more PPVs get purchased. For this fight, i'd say about 50% of the tickets will be put on hold by the promoters and HBO for VIPs, which are usually the freebies.

There's a reason why Vegas has usually been the choice to host big fights.

Especially if they're willing to build a 30,000 seat complex, likely with
              large screens.

Besides, Vegas has been a long time host and the parties involved have developed a solid relationship.

Not saying that it can't or shouldn't happen, but there may be more hurdles to overcome when dealing with a new host and venue.

It would be nice if it were held at one of the stadiums, though for a different atmosphere than the normal.

They can charge more in LV, but the quantity of tickets would more than make up for what they could make. They're talking about seating 20-30k max in Vegas, when Dallas can seat 100k.

I somewhat agree with the ring size argument, but Dallas has a huge screen in the center of the stadium.

You think high rollers create a good atmosphere, when they get there only for the main event? The boxing fan creates the environment and Texas is where real boxing fans are at. Look at Juan Diaz' last 2-3 fights.

That's how I know Top Rank and GBP won't do it because it makes too much sense to take a little bit less money, possibly sell out the stadium, break attendance records, and create an even bigger buzz for the biggest and best fight of the decade. When promoters have been posed with the question if they wanna take more money or do what's better for boxing, they choose the money.

I mean it can hold 103,000 people for a football game so it should be able to hold 105,000 for a boxing fight. plus you can buy a cheap seat in the nose bleeds and still look on the super huge plasma tvs. And it has a rectractable roof, so it can be open or closed.

b/c dallas isnt the boxing mecca, these nothing like a big fight in Vegas. Vegas is the boxing mecca. even Roach wants to fight in vegas.

not even a football stadium full of people measures up to the energy of a big fight in vegas
