Is that the exact quote? I don't think so. I thought Roach said he was never "that great", which is true. I could be wrong, but regardless, it's not entirely true. Hatton was not the best technical fighter but he wasn't easy to deal with. If he was, Floyd, considered a technical genius, wouldn't have taken 10 rounds to get rid of him. No, he wasn't exactly great, but he was tough and packed a decent punch. He wasn't on Pacquiao's level, and he proved it within about 2 minutes of being in the ring with him.

There is no proof that Cotto was damaged goods, and you should know by now that Fredie Roach says all kinds of things to get into the other fighters' head, such as predicting a first round KO, only for Manny to give the first round away on purpose. It's strategy, and actually, it's very smart. Their psychological warfare worked beautifully, as did the game plan, which was all a part of it.

Only in boxing do the best athletes not test themself when on top.. Gotta give mad props to fighters like Pacman, Mosley and the super six guys for changing this though. Athletes need to test themself, it's healthy for the sport and it draw fans !
