-Pacquiao has set every ppv record for fights under welterweight.

So consider the fact that at the lower weights Floyd was fighting on B.A.D. and friday night fights while Pac was setting ppv buy records for fights under welterweight.
    Goddam you make sense ...

      - Records like 300k buys? thats nothing to brag about and that was over 5 yrs ago.

I dnt believe the last part is true and Floyd in his worse selling fight to date sold more in that fight than nearly half of Pacs fights. Some of those fights include the record breakers you speak of.

None of these reasons to me are significant enough to warrant Pac any shot calling privileges.
      Floyd PPV #s PREDelahoya:
      Mayweather-Judah : 390K
      Gatti-Mayweather: 360K
      Mayweather-Baldomir: 340K

      Pacquiao PPV #s PREDelahoya:
      Pacquiao–Marquez 2: 400K
      Pacquiao–Barrera: 350K
      Morales-Pacquiao 3: 360K
      Morales-pacquiao 2: 350k
      Morales-pacquiao: 340K
      Pacquiao–Diaz: 250K
      Pacquiao–Solis: 200K

Mayweather had not headlined a PPV until Gatti at 140lbs.
Morales-Paquiao1 had set the record for most ppv buys under welterweight at the time.

It was then topped by Floyd-Gatti.

Since then has been topped by Pac-Morales 2,3, Pac-Marquez 2 and Pac-Hatton as the most ppv buys for a fight under welterweight.

Pac fighting under welterweight pre-delahoya had topped every ppv floyd had done 140 and up pre-delahoya.

Pacquiao-Marquez II = 400,000. A record at the time. No fight below WW had sold as many as that in the history of the sport.

What Floyd sold with (and because of) Oscar doesn't mean that much now. He will never sell numbers like that again unless he fights Pacquiao, who has become a huge star over the last couple of years, but mainly since he fought Oscar and Hatton. The best comparison, though, is their recent fights. Firepower did more than Numero Uno.

          Look at NOW. Not YESTERDAY.

Pacquiao 60, PBF 40, or no fight. Pacman is the bigger draw, by a mile.

Pacquiao-Marquez II, to be exact. Sorry for nitpicking.

              EDIT: Confirmed by BoxRec:

HBO PPV Executive Mark Taffet reported that this fight generated a record 400,000 buys representing $20.2 million in sales. The results were the most for any pay-per-view telecast at a weight below welterweight in boxing history.

                  Doesn't even matter anymore.

Both have sold, both have accomplished.

                  50-50 or 40-40, winner takes 20.

For the sake of boxing history,

this fight has to be made.

Dude...i'm talkin about even before that Pac-Morales trilogy was already the record 4 ppv buys below welterweight until pac-marquez 2. which was then topped by pac-hatton.

My point was that Pac below welterweight was setting ppv records time after time while Floyd was fighting on friday night fights and B.A.D. below welterweight.

Also Pac fighting below welterweight pre-delahoya had topped everything floyd had ever done ppvwise fighting at welterweight pre-delahoya.
