Ready for some laughs? I AM. Let's take a look at the bulk of one All Time Great Joe Calzaghe's prime years. This is between his legit fight with Chris Eubank(1997) and nearly 10 years later Jeff Lacy (2006) who by all accounts is a bum but at the time was an undefeated contender that was someone that Joe should have fought. I'm going to comment on some of these but in reality all of these could easily have funny comments next to them:

i see where your coming from but i think your just hating a bit too much,in joes defence he wanted a prime jones and other good amercian fighters but he wasnt big enough draw back then to get the fights so all he could do was keep fighting and winning till he got bigger in the game.would he of beat a prime jones or toney,i dont think so but its not his fault he wasnt big enough draw back then,i remember 90 percent of amercians hyping up lacy to smash joe but he got taken out in style and finished his career.you could argue b hop was finished but joe still beat him and then bhop went on to beat pavlik.i think you need to let it go,he hasnt got the greatest record against elite boxers but he beat everyone he could fight,there was no one left in his eara

Fair enough. But why do Joe fans always bring up "he wanted Jones"?

I posted this question a while back on this thread but it got deflected, ducked and avoided by the usual Joe Goons:

If Joe really wanted to fight Roy Jones in Jones' prime, why is what he did so different than what ANTONIO TARVER did to get a fight with Jones?

In other words compare the two. You and other Joe fans say he wanted Jones. Why? Because he said so? Well Tarver said so and DID something about it. A lot of somethings and got his fight.
