Miguel Cotto's Return Eyed For June in New York

Put Mayweather in there with Margarito, Clottey, Mosley and Pac and we'll see if he looks half as good as he does against JMM, Hatton, Baldomir, DLH. Lets be real man, people constantly bash Cotto because he doesn't look "good" in his fights. Yet these same people, like yourself, admit that he's fought top level competition and while the fights are close he's won all but one, and of those two losses one is completely suspect. Seriously, if you don't like Cotto fine, but you can't sit here and put things like "he struggled against top level competition" as an argument with Floyd in the conversation, the guy hasn't faced an elite/top level ANYTHING since his fight with Castillo.

Who said that I didn't like Cotto? I lost 15K trying to support him
against Manny. Also Floyd and his team are diligently working on
making a fight with the man who destroyed Cotto so how is Floyd
scared? Floyd time at WW was different from Cotto's. Who was
really making noise at 147 when Floyd was there besides Zab
(Undisputed Champ) and Baldomir (Lineal Champ) Who else was
there at the time? Cotto was still fighting his way up. Fact of
the matter is that Pac hasn't fought a tough fight since JMM
and that was some time ago. Pacquiao went the easy route
because he is at the top like Floyd did before him. Cotto is a good
but not great fighter and I have always been adament about that,
so many thought I was hating on Cotto but everything I said
came to pass. So don't say that I don't like Cotto or it's personal
because I was dead on about Cotto all along and STILL tried to
support him eventhough I had Manny in the first stages. This is
just Boxing and talking with others about the sport. I think you
have more personal issues with Floyd than I do with Cotto. EVERYONE
on here should know me from my Cotto posts and I always said he was
good but not great. I thought he could out size Manny but guess what,
his skill set was exposed.

fights. Cotto to me was supposed to be his first real challenge since
JMM but look again, Cotto got put into the Oscar/Hatoon category.
Floyd and Pac will be each other's first REAL challenge in a long
time BOTTOMLINE.

Listen, I am a fan of Floyd and know he could have stayed in the sport
a lil longer to fight some top guys but saying he was scared of Cotto and
that's why he retired is BS. Floyd had a 20MIL+ dollar rematch in the
makings against Oscar and he turned it down because Oscar wanted the
same split. Had nothing to do with Cotto. Cotto had to build up to get
ready to face Floyd because he wasn't ready when he was supposed to
fight him back at 140. I just think Floyd technical game in the ring would
have exposed Cotto and I always felt like that even when he was with
Evangelista. Roger already said if Cotto got by Margarito the fight could
be made. I don't get some of you. Why it is such a big deal to like
Floyd? Other than his big mouth? Who did he duck? I've been watching
boxing for a long time and followed Floyd and the moves his has made
and the man is a marketing and promotional genius. Maybe if Cotto would
of made the same moves and guided his career a lil better instead of
letting Arum pimp him then he would be in a different position instead
of being talked about in past tense. The same Cotto who was trained
by Evangelista Cotto couldn't even get him through a fight against
a fighter he was naturally more talented than skill wise (Margarito)
and before that he squeaked by Mosley. All of the Elite guys Cotto
fought he did not look good against and Floyd was supposed to lose
to Cotto? A guy who only is out for the win? Floyd is about to make
a fight with the man everyone is so Wild and crazy about for May 1st
of next year, who DESTROYED Cotto, so how is Floyd ducking or scared
to face fighters? I don't get it. Why is it so hard for people to except
the fact that Floyd has fans? The same thing your bashing Floyd for
your praising Pac for. The fact of the matter is that Cotto was NOT
improving even with Evangelista in his corner and I said that before.
I picked Manny in the beginning but went with Cotto later because I
tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and thought he had enough
to beat Pac physically but he didn't because Pac out thought him.
I always felt like Floyd would pick Cotto apart from the beginning and
know damn well that he didn't retire because of Cotto a guy who
wasn't ready for him when Floyd was ready for him. Doesn't make
sense.

diaz and weightdrained oscar was bad but manny whooped hattons ass at his best weight after he looked great agaisnt paulie....every one knew hatton had no chance against floyd at welter because collazo whooped his ass already and got robbed...the casual fans bought the fight because it was 2 undefeated fighters and they think thats everything in boxing...manny destroyed hatton at 140 lbs and it was unbelievable

I honestly think arum thought cotto would walk right through margarito. And that would of set up a huge ww fight. with floyd and cotto. Because before the marg fight cotto looked like a man possesed in that ring. To beat a dead horse cotto will never be the same and margarito will never be the same. They left a part of themselves in that ring that night. And it was great to see great theater as lampley says. It happens in boxing ya know. yea im not gona lie floyd did take over the fight and he said before that in the 2nd half of the fight he will start to dominate zab gota give him credit for that...zab was a good fight and baldomir wasnt the best he was the champ even though i wanted to see him fight margs mosley was at 154 at the time i believe..if floyd whoops mannys ass and fights mosley i will never talk **** about him again i will say hes the man hes the best of his time..its gona be hard tho mannys a fast little ****er tho....mosleys one of my all time faves and he whoops bertos ass but he got way too desperate for a big fight and made me look at him different....theres a bunch of good fights coming up man and regardless of what happens the real fans like us are the ones who will benefit from all the action and talent

I don't like Floyd at all, but I don't know what people see in Cotto and Margarito that makes them think that those guys would even give Floyd a tough fight in the slightest. They are overrated punching bags. Shane Mosley and Paul Williams would've give Floyd his toughest fights at the time that Pacquiao was out of the picture. That may still be true even with Manny in the picture.
