Pacquiao's lack of defense concerns me.

Like Pac said.....they knew from the beginning coming from the Cotto camp that Cotto's plan was to counterpunch. Manny's head movemments was way less than his previous fights and he is getting hit a lot more. These are plans to bring Cotto out and slug it with Pac. How else could we have seen Pac lay on the ropes and let Cotto have his way?

A Mayweather fight will have a different plan. Roach will take care of it. Expect for Pac to use his left had a lot more than ever before.

If Mayweather can hurt Pac, then the fight is basically over. Pac would only have a puncher's chance.
Since when you need to hurt a fighter to win fights?Plus Floyd is very accurate so he might be able to hurt Pac.

Also consider the fact that Cotto faught one-handed and Mayweather is simply much more accurate. Then again, we also have to understand that Mayweather usually lets the opponent win the 1st few rounds and that could be a huge mistake against Pacquiao. So much to factor, so much. I'm surprised at the fact that either side would be over confident about one beating the other.

Overall, I'd say my prediction is that if Pacquiao can't KO Mayweather, he loses.

He's not winning a decision against Mayweather. If he does, I'll be the first to say I was wrong, but I don't see it happening.

Watching again, I realized Cotto was far more effective offensively than I remembered. He was hitting Pacquiao with flush punches all night. Pacquiao's only real defense was to stick his hands straight up. Not a lot of slipping, dodging, or anything really. He basically figured out Cotto could not hurt him, and walked straight through everything. In his career, and against Cotto, he's been able to do this because of his speed and his overall offense. His chin is incredible clearly, and it's going to be tough for anyone to hurt him.

However, this concerns me about his chances in a Mayweather fight. Mayweather is not looking for a KO like most fighters, so whether Pac can take his punch will not matter as much. The point is, that Mayweather will probably be landing on Pacquiao, a lot. Mayweather landed 59% against Marquez, while Pacquiao landed only 23% on Marquez.

The question is whether you think Pacquiao can land enough on Mayweather, even though he's going to get hit a lot against Floyd. That, or you're hoping for a KO.
I think pacquiao fans are going to have to hope for a ko because i dont think there is any way pacquiao decisions floyd. I think pacquiao is just going have to bring the heat and forget about defense. Your not going to outthink floyd. I think pacquiao can walk through floyds punches so he just needs to think offense.

Let me ease your nerves. Mayweather doesn't hit as hard as Cotto, and he won't go for the knockout anyway and risk getting himself knocked out. Bet your house on that.

I don't know which one he should use against Mayweather, though...
he said he wanted to prove that he can take cotto's punch... probably read some threads here in nsb claiming he can't take cotto's punch.
