Cottos wife leaving the arena after round 9

I don't like to see fighters bring their kids to boxing matches, so I think she was right to leave with the kid.

Seeing your own father somewhat emasculated can have some psychological damage on a kid I believe.

i doubt 2 more rounds would have made that much of a difference. Funny, she brings the kid to watch their dad fight...maybe there's a chance that he'll kick ass or get beat. She took that chance and stayed 9 rounds...actually if you think about it that's more traumatic.

That seriously pissed me off. How can the only person youre relying to for moral support leave you when you need them there the most? How do you guys (or girls if any) feel about this?

She left to protect the kids from seeing the rest. If manny's wife had done the same, it would be ok.

Yep same thinking here.. kids look up to thier parents and belive they are invincible.. but then to watch as thier invincible dad get tore up the way he did was terrible.. plus it didn't help that the corner look lost and confused and had to resort to "we are with you!" but only Cotto taking the punches

Well 2 rounds doesn't make a difference because we know with hindsight how the fight ended, with Miguel on his feet. But when his wife and child left there was still a real danger of him being knocked out badly. And I'm sure his wife knew the fight was not winnable by the time she left.

What can she do? She cannot tell Cotto to stop. She knows he has to finish the fight how he chooses, but she also has a kid to worry about.

But yeah she should not have brought the kid in the first place. If she had been there alone then I guess there would be another debate if she had left.

i remmeber when morales fought rahim... his wife or mom.. dont really remember who it was... she left around the same round....
