Bad habits of Floyd Mayweather:
1. He only throws the straight right counter from a stationary position.
2. He lunges with his left hook.
3. He only throws his right uppercut from a stationary position.
4. He has a hard time adjusting to lateral movement.* Connected to # 1 and 3
5. Has a bad habit of when overwhelmed, to lean on the ropes and pick shots off.
6. Doesn't take risks. (Can be exploited by Roach)
Mayweather is technically brilliant. What he lacks in offense he makes up for with exceptional defense. There are several ways to beat Mayweather. The most obvious is making Floyd change gears from defense to offense and to capitalize on his offensive mistakes. Since that is not likely to happen, the next best thing is to swarm Floyd and put him on defense every second of every round. You can't let him even think of offense. You have to keep him guessing about where the next punch will come from. Eventually his shell will crack when his arms and shoulders can take no more punishment. For this strategy you need a quick fisted fighter who can throw a speedy 4-5 punch combination and move out of range before Floyd starts thinking offense. This is the most likely strategy from Roach.
