Pacquaion-Mayweather: It can be as simple as 3 "IFs"
By Rowell Anthony Maghirang: There is no denying that Floyd Mayweather Jr. has got boxing skills. He probably has the best defensive style in the game. On the other hand, we have the Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, who nobody, in the right state of mind, can deny has got one of the most powerful offensive weaponry that any boxer can wish they’d possess. And after Pacquiao’s very impressive display against Cotto, we all can’t stop ourselves from wanting that these two work of arts meet in the ring.
And as the title suggests, if this fight was ever to occur, it might only come down to three things (“IFs”) and we might have a better chance of guessing it right (knowing that there is no 100% guarantee that it will be right). So below are the 3 “IFs” (and a question after them to ask yourselves)
· If Hatton managed to land a punch on Mayweather, what’s Manny’s chances of landing a punch?
· If Hatton hurt Mayweather a bit (can be argued depending on how each one of us saw the fight) when he connected, how much can Manny hurt Mayweather?
· And if Cotto hardly hurt Pacquiao (again can be argued depending on how we saw the fight), how much can Mayweather hurt Manny?
Personally, after I weighed all these questions in my head, there’s no denying that I would pick Pacquaio over Mayweather on TKO or KO. Which round? I suppose the answer is, depends on how long Mayweather’s defense and evasive movement holds out. And if he ends up holding out until the last round, I would think that he might just have a chance of winning by points.Comment

Actually I was going to do that but its not really my job. I have seen a good amount of articles but there is still a differnce just like there is a differnce on this site. There is downright hate for Floyd and its actually turned so bad that people dont even seem to think he is that good, hasnt fought anyone ever, ducks everyone, runs every fight, pit pats every fight, picks on the smallest guy possible, purposely prices himself out of fights, only takes fights that he's sure he will win, he's not a real P4P go or near the top, and he will get killed by Pac or Mosley while having no shot of taking there punch, going toe to toe at all, and cant hurt anyone
Check Manuel Perez article on Pac. Dude has downright serious hate on for Pac. He makes it seem like Pac is no good at all.
Lyle Fitzsimmons is one of the worse writers I know and he is one of the biggest Floyd nuthuggers I seen. He makes it seem like Floyd is the G.O.A.T. Everybody is going to have there fans and there detractors. I hate it when people make it seem like there is a double standard for Floyd. Or like if he is the only who gets serious hate for no reason. I mean that is not true.Comment

I think this article was alreadly posted on here but Im not sure.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. is overrated, period!
By Jorge Lugo: Okay, I am going to clear this up once and for all! I stand by the following statement with anyone. “Floyd Mayweather Jr. is overrated, period!” He has never fought any real fighter with a challenge and was NEVER that good. Here’s why:
Mayweather Jr. has handpicked 2nd tier fighters for ALL of his careers. His best opponents are the following- Oscar Delahoya, Juan Manuel Marquez, Jose Luis Castillo, Zab Judah and Diego Corrales. For someone who is in the welterweight division, there is not a TRUE welterweight in that list as Delahoya(his 2nd best challenge to date) was a middleweight.
Now, even though Oscar Delahoya was past his prime and a lot less intense when he met Mayweather, he STILL had a close decision against him. Delahoya was in the fight the whole time and any real competitor would have taken Mayweather’s loss record that night. Oscar just didnt have his fighters edge, which is sad but true!
Juan Manuel Marquez is not even close to a welterweight and when he fought Mayweather at the agreed 144lb weight, Mayweather came in at 147. Now here’s people’s argument on this fight. “Oh, but Mayweather dominated Marquez”. I got news for you, Mayweather didn’t dominate Marquez. Dominating is what Pacquiao did to Cotto. For Mayweather to be the supposed P4P best the fact is he hurt Marquez once in the 2nd round and couldnt even put him away for the rest of the fight. For someone to supposedly be so good, his punches only hurt Marquez in the knockdown and never again in the fight (Go youtube the after fight interview with Mayweather and Marquez). Just because he didn’t take punishment from a SMALLER fighter doesn’t make him good. The fact is Marquez MADE that fight as he tried and pursued Mayweather that whole night.
Diego Corrales (RIP) when he fought Mayweather was not the same, period. Even so, Corrales STILL went to the 10th round with Mayweather. And to just be honest, Corrales was never that good anyway! Sorry but its true! Zab Judah, who is known for never being able to pull off the win in big fights, as well as fading in the later rounds, went 12 complete rounds with Mayweather. To also be honest here, as much as people don’t want to admit it, Judah was in the fight with Mayweather for 2/3’s of the bout and was never badly hurt.
Mayweather’s best challenge came to him when he fought Jose Luis Castillo, a fight in the 135lb division! Now I take nothing away from there secound fight because I feel he beat Castillo fair. But in that first fight, Castillo gave Mayweather a fair share and he even hurt Mayweather. Again, don’t believe me then go look at youtube.
Now speaking of being hurt. Mayweather was also hurt by DeMarcus Corley, almost knocked down by a OVERRATED Ricky Hatton (Don’t believe me go to the video and watch as Mayweather stumbles back from a Ricky Hatton punch). On top of that, the best decision he could pull of against a awful Carlos Baldomir was a 12 round decision? Also, everybody do your research. Every fighter he fought at that time besides Ricky “Over Rated” Hatton and Diego Corrales has had a lost on there record before they fought Mayweather. Thus proven that even though there 2nd tier fighters, those fighters were tested and defeated before in some way shape or form. Providing given strategy.
My point here should be clear. Don’t pull Pacquiao’s card as if he has a challenge in Mayweather when Mayweather has only looked impressive against 2nd tier fighters and ducked EVERYONE else. I refuse to be ****** into this B.S. that he is one of the p4p best’s when he hasnt fought ANYBODY with worthwhile opposition! Where I come from, that makes you a coward.
For a man to talk so much garbage doesn’t make him great, it makes him entertaining. An entertainer, not a fighter is something that Floyd Mayweather Jr admits he is(check his latest interview on skysports). Thanks to RA the Rugged Man, we also know on top of everything else, he has no sense of pride, being said and I quote “Legacy Dont Pay The Bills.” Therefore, this is article is dedicated to the real fighters out there! I will and have no problem saying this to anyone. Floyd Mayweather Jr is overrated, period.Comment

Not only hate for Floyd. See that is a big misconception here is that Floyd is the only fighter that gets serious hate.

Pacquaio Stops Cotto: the Mayweather Duck Clock Begins
By Giancarlo Malinconico: I have stated in many previous boxing articles that Manny Pacquiao would stop Miguel Cotto, and I described the blueprint of how it would happen. Many pundits have made excuses about Pacquiao’s last few opponents, but I have written on many occasions that the Pacman was a different fighter since moving up to 135 pounds. Cotto is a great fighter, and gave Manny trouble early in the fight; But I knew a relentless Manny would eventually stop him.
As far as Floyd “Money” Mayweather is concerned, it is up to him to ensure the fight with the Pacman happens. The Pacman has proven he ducks no one, but Floyd has not been as willing to challenge the best, particularly at welterweight. Instead of fighting Antonio Margarito, Floyd ducked him and opted to fight the obscure journeyman Carlo Baldomir. “Sugar” Shane Mosley called out Mayweather, and surprise, surprise Floyd ducked him as well.
The bottom line, I believe the Pacman would beat Mayweather handily if they were to clash. The Pacman will be able to walkthrough Mayweather’s single shots, and pressure him with combination punching from many angles. I believe Mayweather would end up fighting the way Cotto did in the late rounds against the Pacman, and Pacquiao would cruise to a clear decision victory because Floyd will not want to slug it out with the fast-handed Filipino.
Let us see if Floyd uses the money split or something else as an excuse to avoid fighting Pacquiao. I say 50-50, and let’s get ready to rumble!Comment

There will always be exceptions but you know as well as I do that its like 8-1 in terms of writers who like and dont like Floyd. Its actually not much different than that on this forum. Dougie Fischer loves to play the victim and says that he takes heat because alot of writers love Floyd. I told him straight up, who are you talking about? There are a million Floyd bashing articles and most writers I know straight up agree with you and so do the fans.Comment
