Whinny? When the hell do I whine? Do not get it twisted. Are you saying the officiating in the Hatton fight was fair? As for the latter part of your comment a ***** is far from what I am about.

Why does Benny Leonard so angrily bash Hatton for his holding, yet unconditionally APPROVE of everything Ward did last night? Why does he disapprove of Hatton's home ref, but unconditionally approve of Al Weiss?

Is Benny Leonard biased? If so, what people is he biased against?
Why hasn't Carnivore gone to school to finish his education on how to read a full paper to understand it?

How come Carnivore likes to edit out what somebody has said?

How come Carnivore thinks it is OK for Gene Tunney, Klitschkos, and Hatton to hold but not Ward?

How come Carnivore thinks it is Ok for Hatton to rabbit punch but nobody else?

I've watched the fight twice and didn't see any low blows; I saw a few on the belt line, but I didn't see Kessler complain about them nor anyone in his corner.

        Rabbit punches?

You are over the top with this crusade that you're on.

The ref was Jack Reiss, BTW.

Rough tactics are part of boxing.....some of you are being unrealistic in these threads to think fighters with their lives literally on the line are going to be squeaky clean and never bend the rules......whatever happened to the wide hook followed by the elbow.....I miss that tactic, nobody does it anymore. Its smart and hard to prove intent.

No ****...that's what I'm getting at. Glad you see the point.

If the rules are there, it's up to the ref to enforce them because if he doesn't, fighters will do what they have to do in order to win even if it is bending the rules...at least the majority.

That's why even though I wasn't for what Hatton did, I still understood why he did it and it does count as a win in the way boxing is setup.

So then you would be against the wins of Gene Tunney, Jack Johnson, Ricky Hatton, Ali, Klitschkos, Lewis, and all those that have used it as a tactic...as well as illegal moves/shots?

Clinching and holding in a clinch are not the same thing.

-Vitali rarely even clinches and generally doesn't do anything illegal. He doesn't need to in order to win.

-Wlad clinches too much when he's fighting a big puncher, but doesn't hold his opponents' arm while punching them or headbutt in the clinch.

-Lewis was dirty, he would rabbit punch, headbutt, and hit his opponent in the back while holding his other arm.

-I haven't seen enough of Jack Johnson.

-Ricky Hatton would hold & hit, the UK home refs let him do it. But he wasn't as bad for it as you're making him out to be.

-Tunney and Ali were clever but not dirty fighters, they would clinch but rarely headbutt, nor hold/hit. Sometimes Ali would headbutt, but not repeatedly in a fight like Ward, Miranda and Holyfield.

when i watched that fight live streaming i became a hatton/parris hater.
i swore i seen hatton nodding to parris on several occasions when he was working kosta over on the inside.

few months later when i got the dvd of fight. slo-moing it and that.
i earned new respect for hatton for the way he mauled the RUSTY tszyu.
of coarse parris sort of leaned towards homeboy. but nothing unexceptable imo.

So are we against the clinch or not?
Yes, you can use the clinch as a tactic.
No, you can't use the clinch as a tactic.

I guess it depends on the rule book. But if the rule book said you were not allowed to hold, you would then be against it and favor the ref to give a warning...deduct a point...and then DQ as the third step?

Jack Johnson held, a lot...although I don't think he did anything "illegal" as far as hitting illegally or head-butting.
Still made it boring unless you found it entertaining with what his purpose was which was to embarrass as well as wear down his opponents both mentally and physically.

Now on to illegal moves: Elbows, head-butts, etc....Warning, then a DQ?
This could have changed history for many fighters. Holyfield, Marciano, Hopkins, etc. could have all lost bouts if they didn't pay attention to the warning(s) and the ref decided to give them the DQ.

Klitschkos are clean fighters in my opinion. Wlad holds more than Vitali, a lot more actually compared specifically in certain fights like you have mentioned...but, I understand why he does it. He has been doing it ever since he hooked up with Emanuel who also had Lewis do it. It is a smart move...although I still have to go back over the rule-book to see what's what.

                      Hatton was dirty:

                      Time 3:57 Hatton...
