He was the #1 P4P guy and selling over 1mil PPV's. Margarito did like 150,000 PPV's. Shoot, Margarito needed the fight just as much as Shane because Shane was probably even a bigger star than him. On top of that, you have to remember that most thought Shane was done or close to it and they thought Margarito would kill him. NO way he gets a Pac-Floyd fight if Williams beat Mosley. No one would want to see that and if he did get it then he would have to take like a 90/10 split. He would have no choice
I'm just saying that the fact that Mosley is tied up with Berto who is not even more known to boxing fans than Paul Williams is takes him further out of the discussion of a fight with Manny or Floyd. Believe what you want. Mosley is not a big draw either. So he needs to raise his clout some way. And the only benefit I see of him beating Berto is gaining another title. But he'll be stripped right after if he doesn't unify. So the cause is lost.

I just dont get how fans & media can be so blind that they dont see this. I hate it so much when everyone tries to say that it means that they are scared of him. They arent. Its just a business. Its the same thing I said about Floyd. I beleive that Floyd wanted no part of the big WW's the 1st time around because he was only 146 in the ring and was worried if he could compete physicaly. Right now I think he feels that he can compete physicaly and will fight alot of those guys but it doesnt mean that he's going to fight them before JMM & Pac. Why would he do something dumb like that? Thats what fans & media dont get. Wake up people. Why would he risk a fight against a Mosley or Williams 1st when he can make a big pay day with JMM and then make the biggest fight ever with Pac?
if everyone thinks like floyd, boxing will surely die. everyone will duck everyone.... thank god we have pacman who dont care for his stats.

you dont get why the media and the fans bash floyd? because hes not fighting the best, period. for 7 years, i think people are tired on waiting for the floyd that your describing in your thread, everyone has limits.

anyways, floyd mentality on losing is flawed, losing is a normal thing,
guess what, most fighters best wins come from a trilogy, w/c means he loses 1 of the first 2 meetings and wins the 3rd historic fight.

I don't buy him makin it comfortably at this point. And even if he did, nobody there would fight him. Pwill is done at WW.

Mosley isnt scared of anyone. He would fight anyone, including Williams and I think he really wants that fight but do you think he is dumb enough to fight Williams right now for pennies with barely anyone watching when he could wait and fight the Pac-Mayweather winner for mega bucks and they are easier? Its not that he's scared of Williams, he's just not a fool. You fight Williams after all of that. Its the same for Pac. People are insane if they think that Floyd will duck these cats. IDK for sure about Williams but I have no doubt that he would fight a Mosley and a Clottey but not before JMM & Pac. Why would he make a dumb move like that? Its common sense.

Williams has no one to blame but himself. He is the one that lost to Quintana. If he wins that fight then maybe things are alot different but he lost it. Now Pavlik shouldve definatly fought him. That win would give Williams more exposure and around that time, the guys at WW may fight him. I bet right now Clottey would fight him if he really wants to. Remember Clottey said NO because he didnt want to come up in weight but at WW I bet Clottey would take that fight. You guys hate to hear it but eveyone has to realize its a business. Sure, Floyd is going to fight Williams for scraps, maybe lose, and lose out on the super mega pay day with Pac who is probably an easier fight. Mosley is going to fight Williams right now and lose while he couldve waited a couple of months and made 5x as much money against guys with way bigger names and are at the top of the P4P list. Sure, Mosley is really going to take that fight? It would be dumb to.

Williams just has to find a way to get one big win, probably against Pavlik and around that time the WW picture should clear up and he can get the fight. or ask Clottey for a fight at WW. I also dont see Williams rushing to do that because its the same thing. Sure he has no problem coming to WW for the mega fights but he wont risk coming to WW to fight Clottey because he will only make scraps and could lose before he got a shot at the big money. Its all the same thing but the media & fans act like they dont realize it. Its not about being scared, its about being smart
Hey man Manny Pacquiao is the #1 P4P fighter in the world....Paul Williams has been calling him out....Is Pac ducking Williams?...Pac is the # 1 WW.....Pac has the belt that Williams vacated then Cotto & Jennings fought for it....WIlliams wants his belt back......Williams said he wants to fight Pac @147.......Is Manny ducking Paul Williams?

It's not Pacquiao's fault that Cotto scavenges vacant title belts. Williams only fought one more fight at 147 after Pacquiao left 130, so even I admit that fight is unrealistic unless Williams got down and beat a big name at that weight who held a title.

pwill can't leapfrog the gatekeepers after leaving WW for so long. I mean he atleast has to fight clottey.

Mosley is not a star but he's the 1 rated WW by most, he's had 10x more bigger fights than Williams, and he's just the next logical choice. Who else are Pac-Floyd going to fight? If you read every article, everyone says that Mosley should and probably will get the winner. When Pac & Floyd say that they have other options, the #1 guy is usually Mosley. I think he gets that fight either next or the 1 after. I could see Floyd maybe fighting a Clottey after Pac and then Mosley and I could see Pac fighting JMM and then Mosley but I think he's getting it in the next fight or 2 if he stays unbeaten which isnt a sure thing but it definatly wouldnt be a sure thing if he fought Williams

Ts is 100% correct!!It makes no sense for any welterweight to fight him!!Mosley & floyd both know they can't beat him!!Although I wouldn't put it past Cotto or Pacman for accepting his challenge if they absolutely had to!!
