Not to say that Ricky was great. I meant the style/tactic. One guy wanted to brawl/war/trade and the other guy planned to take it deep and potshot and wear the opponent down.

i never liked the idea of the higher profile names automatically getting the nod.

i think the "fight of the year" should be the best representation of the sport for that year. in my opinion, pacquao vs. cotto might have been the biggest/most meaningful fight of the year, but it was mostly one-sided and didn't have the consistent action, excitement and competitiveness that diaz vs. marquez or agbeko vs. perez had.

i think in 10 or 15 years this fight will have its place in history as a significant victory. i think its the fight that opened up most doubters eyes and showed pacquiaos true greatness. Also its the fight that set up one of the biggest hyped fights of all time...Mayweather vs. Pacquiao

I think this will be the FOTY!! Although it's a one sided beat down in the end. It was competitive at least for the 1st 4 rds. But the significance of the fight will win it. This fight is where Pac gets the record breaking 7th Title. He did it in an exciting & dominating way!!!

JMM-Diaz was the main rival for FOTY. It's competitive but not as important or as spectacular as the Pac-Cotto fight.
