no but hopkins was still a formidabe opponent when calzaghe fought him and roy still had a big name joe c retired at a time when there really was no one else of seious importance to his legacy he cant comeback and fight everytime some young up and comer looks impressive. lets be real if calzaghe would have fought and defeated chad dawson that win would just be discredited as well eventually as a fight over a young prospect who hadnt proven anything up to that point

As for Dawson, it was a few weeks ago posters were slating him for not being a huge draw i.e. no more money. It wouldn't have mattered anyway, Dawson is one of my favourites, but he lapses and takes breaks during fights, Calzaghe keeps a consistent trend all night long and is focused for the entire fight.

The light heavyweight division is **** anyway, and if Calzaghe had fought Dawson and won then the division would be in limbo at this very minute, in fact it pretty much is at this moment.

Plus even if Dawson did beat Calzaghe, where does he go then? He's too small for Crusierweight and would need to boil himself down to Super Middle.
Hopkins was willing to fight in England to get a rematch and it was just one of those matches that had to be made to see who was the better fighter because the first one was too close to call. As for Dawson he's only got the likes of Tarver, Johnson and Hopkins who he can get a fight with because there is no real big young star at light heavy coming through so if Dawsons fighting Tarver and Johnson he may as well fight Calzaghe to see who is the best light heavy around.

Calzaghe would not pick up a loss in the super six.

the first 1 is only to close to call if you are blind. calzaghe landed almost double the amount of punches hopkins did at a higher percentage. if that isnt conclusive enough for you then, no help possible will help you.

did you just call someone blind and then quote compubox? i'm sure he's actually watched the fight and could tell calzaghe wasn't landing anything. you would appear to be the blind one you poor unfortunate person.

Ok so based on punch stats the Calzaghe Hopkins should have been 120-108 to Calzaghe then.
