Ward Owns Kessler, Puts U.S. Back in The Super Six

I am not going to lie, I thought Ward was going to loose this one. But he defiantly beat the hell out of Kessler. I think Abraham is Eu's only chance.
Only thing I didn't like about Ward vs Kessler. No body can deny that some of those head butts were pretty bad. Top of Andre's head vs Kessler's face = OwnageComment

I must admit that I had Kessler to win this, I thought Ward would make the odd mistake that Kessler would exploit, but Kessler seems to have gone backwards in terms of development.
Both times he has got beat he has come up with an excuse, from swolen knuckle pre Calzaghe to bad reffing. It may well come down to history recognising him as a 'nearly man' of the division - someone very good, but found wanting against those one or two elite level fighters.
With hindsight, I should have been more cautious - I acknowledged Ward's skill in the clinch with another poster, and recalled that Calzaghe was on the verge of stopping Kessler with body shots when the ref called him up for an illegal blow. Given that by that point in his career Calzaghe's hands were permanently ****ed, it should have registered better.
The other thing that put me further into Kessler's camp was the endless **** being pumped out by Scott Gilfoid prior to the fight, on the basis he always talks out of his arse, I refused to acknowledge the pedigree of Ward and given that Gilfoid's recommendation is normally the kiss of death, put my weight behind Kessler.
Still on the brightside, we have a shining new light at 168, and a pissed off Kessler that will hopefully shut Froch up and if he doesn't hopefully Ward will get to.
Ward did his home work and yes he was dirty, but so was Froch in his last fight.
I think Ward is one to watch, on top of his ability, he seems to have a well prepared and excellent team around him.Comment
