According to alot of people, Mikkel Kessler was prime, the #1 SMW in the world, and the favorite to win the Super Six . All of a sudden he's a bum because he loses. NSB is mindboggling sometimes.

There wasn't an annoying amount of clinching involved and the headbutts (which came late in the fight) were accidental and wouldn't have changed the outcome of the fight.

Kessler got outboxed on the outside and outfought on the inside. He couldn't land **** on Ward.

No excuses. Ward whooped that ass in the most legitimate way possible. :up:

In my opinion, he was. I have never seen Kessler this slow nor flabby but Ward did look really good tonight. I just think that Kessler looked at Ward's record and thought it would be a cakewalk...big mistake. I hope he takes the next fight seriously,I think he is fighting Froch so he might not have to train too hard, lol (kidding). This was the worst Kessler I have ever seen though for real (Ward is world class tho)

I don't think anyone will disagree that Ward was dominating, but after the 5th round he started fighting sloppy as hell (Jumping in with no head movement), and with constant heabutts, there was absolutely no way Kessler could capitalize and make a come back.

I thought Ward was really live going into the fight, and was the #2 in the Super Six. He did better than I expected.

Kessler fought flat, didn't jab and looked very lethargic Jr. But a lot has to be said w/ what Ward was able to get away w/ also.

Kessler is of a different culture and a gentleman and he was taken advantage of by the ref because he thought they were playing by the rules.

Which it was clear they weren't. In light of all that, I wasn't all that impressed by Ward.

He has a lot of bad habits, an ugly style and won't be able to get away w/ it much longer.

Kessler's comments after the fight prove he's not as polite a gentlemen as you would think.

I never said he necessarily did them on purpose. Like I said, he was lunging in, of course it's likely to happen.

And while he easily dominated early on, I just can't consider it a 100% legitimate win given the circumstances. Kessler never even had a chance to come back given the constant headbutts.
