People need to quit hyping up Dawson as the guy to take Calzaghe's 0, which hasn't been done here lately too much and rightfully so. Andre Ward would beat Chad Dawson. And a Calzaghe-Ward fight is up in the air to me. I wasn't impressed with Ward in his fight with Miranda, but even Ward was honest with himself that night and said that he would perform better under a bigger stage. Ward is the truth. Abraham only has a puncher's chance against him, and his ear muff defense might make it hard for Ward to land. But Abraham would be more competitive than Kessler was.

The whole point of this thread though is to give praise to a fighter who deserves it and not a fighter who pitty pats to victories like Chad Dawson does.

I think Dawson technically is more sound than Ward. Both I believe are really coming in to their own, respectively. I think Dawson recently has honed in his skills a little bit more now. Now Dawson isn't the most exciting fighter to watch, but techinically speaking he is pretty good.

i think chad honestly wins if they fought, but ward is a little more excitin tho cuz he at least engages sometimes and takes some chances. i think dawson vs johnson 1 could have the same effect as mayweather vs castillo 1 had. when mayweather had a tough fight he decided to be more cautious and has fought that way ever since. hope chad dont fight like that now because of that fight

I think you are are pretty much wrong Ice, Dawson is fast hits far harder than Ward and is too experienced. Maybe Andre Ward in a few more years but not right now, no way.

I quit taking this post serious after I read that. But to address this opinion, Dawson can't break an egg shell. He couldn't even stop a washed up Eric Harding. I'm not saying he's feather fisted. But he doesn't have stoppage power either and his record reflects that. I know Johnson and Tarver have pretty good chins. But Dawson has only scored stoppages over second rate opponents without even being able to knock them down. He's not that hard of a puncher. Ward isn't either. And even though he's smaller than Chad, he would have the power advantage if they ever fought.

dont know why I try to have discussions with you you are an idiot. He stunned Adamek, he knocked down Tarver, he put enough hard leather on Johnson to gain his respect Dawson has far more power than Ward.
