I can agree to a certain extent, the first being that Ward looked better and was far more entertaining. I can also agree with Pullcounter that Ward would fight dirty because tonight was NOTHING but at the very least a stretching of the rules. The headbutts weren't really an issue, though the second one most certainly was and I think it would have warranted a point being taken away, IF the first one wasn't accidental. But what most DEFINITELY should have earned him at least 1 or 2 points being taken away was his pawing with his jab. He left it out there and was moving it far too slow to be considered a punch, just pure crap tactics.
That being said, he still would have won but it seemed, to me at least that Kessler took this fight a bit too lightly and once he saw the speed of Ward he simply had no idea what to do. Is Ward better than Dawson, I don't know, he's beaten a GREAT fighter but lets be honest it wasn't a good version of Kessler by any means and Dawson has beaten Tarver and Johnson, twice each. Ward also seems to be a lot better offensively than Dawson, but again the Ward who showed up tonight has to be taken into account. I'll be the first to admit while Dawson has a lot of skill he doesn't take many chances and while I don't take that away from his skill it takes away from his entertainment value which always is taken into account during this type of debates unless you're as good as Mayweather which Dawson certainly is not.
Is Ward better... I don't know too early to tell but as I said he is far more entertaining and I'll watch a fight with him in it versus a bout with Dawson any day of the week.
