good first half for Ward. Disgracefull 2nd half.
Ward is the dirtiest fighter since Bernard Hopkins.

Give it a rest, whiners. I saw exactly one foul worthy of complaining about. That would be the head butt that caused the fight-ending cut. Ward didn't fight anything close to a dirty fight. Clearly Kessler was not expecting Ward to fight aggressively. He was beaten to the punch from start to finish. He is a fairly slow-footed 1-2 puncher (mostly just a 1, really) who has little instinct to fight on the inside. Because of this he was outclassed. He was not beaten by any imaginary dirty fighting or, as some have suggested, a referee on the take. He may call himself the "Viking Warrior," but Mikkel really didn't show a lot of fire in the ring tonight. He was beaten by a better, much hungrier fighter tonight. It is unfortunate that he wasn't mature enough to admit that in his interview.Comment

Your righteous indignation is pathetic...tell it to Tyson, who got layed on by a European (english) champ. Tell it to anybody who lost to Calslappy by decision...Kessler liked to bill himself as a tough guy. He got out-toughed. Live with it.Comment

What a terrible display by Ward of holding and hitting blatantly to the back of the head and the kidneys and low blows and the slack jawed bought and paid for ref just standing there watching.
Ward also had his left out and held it in front of Kessler's head and was only warned 2x even though he did it all night long.
And of course you all saw Ward running in w/ his head all night long trying to cut Kessler.
I knew this fight was gonna go off like this which is why I wasn't excited about it at all. This new American boxing style that has been spawned off by Mayweather of running, holding, and fouling is the worst thing in boxing currently.
Everytime Ward got in close he held and cheated and the ref's let him get away with it.
Having said all that Kessler came out extremely flat and didn't do anything to combat Ward and his foul filled style.
What a disgraceful display by Ward. Over time, boxing fans will speak with their wallet and they'll demand that this spoiling, foul filled style will be eradicated from the sport.
If fighters like Ward are allowed to get away with this, boxing will see its demise.Comment
