because of Pac's resume, beating cotto, etc. if he beats him does he also become an ATG? is that how it works?

or would he need a few more fights with other welterweights to reach that status?

Yes. Beating the P4P #1 fighter in the world would be a monumental task and the icing on the cake to his career.

The fans and the boxing public aren't demanding that fight for no reason.

It's the end all be all fight of the decade.

I think many consider him an ATG. Seriously, his ability from 130-140 is better than Pac's. Hell, it's better than what he is now. I would bet on Floyd's chances vs. ATG fighters of the past in those weights over Pac.
Floyd isn't losing to a past prime Morales...and he would also beat both MAB and JMM.

But to get him a bigger boost legacy wise: Fight and Beat Paul Williams. That's the toughest fight out there at 147+

Beating Floyd would make an ATG. I think it will put him in the top 50 and maybe top 40.

how many times we gotta rehash this?

floyd can't become an ATG just by beating pac.

pac's resume does nothing for floyd... floyd has to actually fight tough fights to get credit for them!!!!

Beating Pacquiao doesn't mean you beat all the WW.

Pac would still be top notch ahead of Floyd
