Go watch real boxing and real fighters, Popkins is horrible for the sport. He's one of the reasons why boxing is so unpopular these days. Calzaghe had to chase him 24/7. If Calzaghe just stood there, there wouldn't be any fighting going on because Popkins is too much of a coward to walk down to Calzaghe.

Calzaghe came on his turf, landed more, taunted him numerous times and broke the record for most punches landed on Popkins. If they gave the fight to Popkins, it would have been robbery of the millennium.

When?! 2008-04-19 Calzaghe beat him, and aside from round 1, it was a shut-out. Calzaghe should have been rewarded a TKO, because you can't just randomly take rests during the fight. Calzaghe EVEN GRINDED Popkins, LOL!!!

Popkins couldn't even keep his arms up at the end of the fight.
Calzaghe should have been rewarded a TKO, he was running and couldn't wait to hear the final bell. It wasn't even a contest really.

Calzzaghe hit hopkins maybe 5 clean times that WHOLE fight. He just threw meaningless punches that were **** and HOpkins defense made calzaghe pissed and he knew he didn't win the fight. That's why Calzaghe dont WANT a rematch.

              Hopkins is a good boxer.

The calls of some people calling Calzaghe as just a great welsh fighter is not true. he will be remember by boxing historians/analysts also despite the hate generally coming from the casual american fans.

BECAUSE "US" american fans know great fighters when we see one. We have a better history of champs dating back from way back. *like Ali, Dempsy, Louis, Liston, Robinson, Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Tyson, Whitaker, De La Hoya) But We cheered for Chavez Sr.,Lennox Lewis, Duran, Trinidad, Pacquiao because we know they are great fighters and Calzaghe doesn't come on that LIST.

And he will not be remembered as Hopkins and Roy jones are going to be. He was protected his WHOLE career and retired ducking a hopkins rematch, dawson, and glen johnson *who he ducked his whole career*

Not really,he is known to HBO's commentators as such, but they have a vested interest in talking up their fighters. The reality is,and will always be that B-hop and Calzaghe are very close all ways around. One of the most crass and ****** myths put out there is that a younger Hopkins would have beaten Calzaghe. What a load of dog****! You could just as easily say that a younger Calzaghe would have beaten a younger Hopkins.

I never understand all this hoopla surrounding Hopkins. I think people just dig him because he went to prison, and managed to turn himself around. So f.ucking what? He cultivated a badass public persona on the back of that, again, So f.ucking what?

You can pick holes in 'nards resume all day long if you are so inclined, just as you can Calzaghe's.

Both are great fighters, and this isnt top trumps. That is for gayboys. Best just give both men their respect and leave it at that.
