Maybe dye from the glove, or maybe Cotto's blood. It makes me belive that he used those pads in the Cotto fight.

cant see it being blood from cotto unless it was after the fight when he hugged him or something ?

my only problem with it all is that the athletic commisions never said what it was in the wraps, it was always an 'unamed substance'

One of the pads which were in his gloves before the Mosely fight, had a pink stain on it in the same place.

Isn't plaster supposed to get HARD after a while....

Why would Margarito use the same plaster????

look everyone, I like cotto as much as anyone and still do, but lets be fair,,, it seems to me like fans of the guy are going to constantly base all their disapointment in him on this speculation. I think it was unfair and a diservice to Manny for hbo to got here and for other to continuously imply this.

The fact that there was also a red stain, whether it be blood or the dye from the glove rubbing off of the glove doesn't matter. What matters is that the "brick" that fell out of Margarito's wraps had the same color stain on them in the same spot. It wasn't as big, but you could tell it had been worn before and personally I've never seen or heard of a fighter using the same gauze or tape in two different fights.





Its more than enough proof, to me at least, that he used against Cotto. Add to the fact that this was Marg last shot at ever becoming a 7 figure fighter, as a win for either fighter is what was going to set them up with a shot at DLH or any other big name fighter. I never understood why people would think he would use against Mosley but not Cotto. Mosley was essentially looked at as a tune-up fight for Marg, considering the fashion he disposed of Cotto. The fact is the Cotto fight WAS the biggest fight of both Marg and Cotto's career, why you would use to beat up a "old man" like Mosley and not an undefeated monster, in THE biggest fight of your career is simply idiotic. But with this pictures I'm not sure how there can really be any doubt that he didn't use. Sure, he never got caught in this fight and they'll always be Mexicans who ignore the obvious, and it isn't DEFINITIVE proof, but its more than enough to question his win.
