Man, I consider myself a latecomer as far as Pacquiao is concerned, but the first fight I sat and watched was Barrera in 2003. I was shocked as hell. I kick myself for not taking notice around the time he whipped Ledwaba's ass. I never got to see his fights though, only read articles in boxing mags, etc.

I never imagined he would destroy Barrera like that because I was into Marco big time. As Pacquiao became greater, I gradually became more of a fan. Manny takes time to grow on you, I find.

Not having heard of him until the Marquez fights (which one? They were 4 years apart!) is quite surprising.


Regarding steroids, I just threw that in there because of the recent accusations of Pacquiao using them. It seems odd that many of the people throwing around accusations (not saying you did) are actually big fans of confirmed drug cheats. I don't like hypocrites.

Pac is an overachiever while Roy is an underachiever. Roy is my favorite fighter, but his career could have been a lot more. I dont think he has a bad resume at all, but he could defeated loads more fighters than he did. He could have been ranked up there with the Alis and Robinsons if he was willing to take more chances, but as it stands hes still an ATG. Roy was expected to win and most people believe he would have beaten most of the fighters people say he ducked. Pac on the other hand keeps doing things people dont expect him to do. Pac will be the fighter who kept surprising people and testing himself while Roy will have a lot of What Ifs.
