Roach's 50/50 + More $ to winner + Floyd's love for $ = Pacman's screwed.

I've been following Floyd since about 98 and I personally can tell you he hasn't fought with much excitement in the ring in a real long time. Some would say he beat Gatti to a pulp, but so have many others before Floyd.

His style today opposed to how he was at 130-140 is night and day. He takes way less risks than he used to. Boring or not, it is what it is. I personally liked him better in the smaller weights (which is what made me a fan of his).

        It's too tough to call.

I'm wondering what will happen if Manny doesn't follow Floyd around the ring. Will Floyd engage? Like Sam said, Pacquiao could just stand there and wait for Mayweather to do something.
That's what I've been wondering for days. By not following him around like a demented dog chasing a bone, what happens? Everyone always falls for the same thing when they fight him. They think you need pressure, but that hasn't worked. However, it might, considering that very few people can apply such intense pressure and a frightening pace like Pacquiao. But what happens if he doesn't fall for it? Does this take away certain advantages Floyd has over pretty much everyone? Floyd would be forced to come forward, and that, I feel screws his game plan up because I have no doubt he is expecting Manny to bumrush him. That's what he's training for. So if it doesn't pan out like he thinks, he will have to change his game plan right there and then.

He is a defense-based fighter. He excels when people come at him, as does Calzaghe. To give Calzaghe a harder fight, you need to lay off and make him come forward, like Bernard did. Floyd might be similar in that way.

I see what you are saying. But I was more so talking to Pac fans because some of them say that they want to see this fight, yet they continue to make excuses. They talk about if Floyd wins it will be a boring UD. But I say, boxing and defense is Floyd's style, but if Manny allows him to move and box for 12 rounds you can't blame Floyd for fighting his fight, blame Manny for not doing something to stop it.

Don't "like" it? I never said that. I do want to see some action, though, especially if I paid good money to be entertained. I've never been into overly-defensive fighters, they bore the **** out of me. The fact that Manny is vulnerable and willing to trade makes the fight that little bit more exciting. I want a fight, not a spar session.

The difference between the early rounds of Pacquiao-Cotto compared to the last rounds -- which would you rather watch, given a choice? I'll take the first 6 rounds over the last 6, any day of the week.

I like to be entertained. Pacquiao gives me the same kind of feeling as I used to get watching prime Mike back in the 80's.

Just my preference man. I ain't paying to see someone "not" get hit. LOL.

Nah I can't argue with that. Whomever brings the right game plan will win.
It's a tough fight for me to call. Pacquiao just surprises me in every fight. A lot of people try to come up with reasons to how he's achieving all this whether it be steroids or catchweights, but sometimes you have to sit back and just watch as a fighter evolves into a legend in the sport who we'll be talking about for years.

May the best man win, truthfully.

that is fine. no problem with your preference. I just wanted to get you to open up a bit about it.

For me personally, though I was a RB my whole life, I like to see GREAT DEFENSES. Its the same with boxing. Anyone can throw a punch and hit another person, but can you stop the other person from hitting you AND you continue to hit them. I enjoy that. Thats why Roy is another one of my favorites and Ali, and the list goes on.

                  What an idiotic thread.

Who do you think is more motivated?

The guy who has a nation behind him and feels like he is carrying the burden on his shoulders?

                  OR

The guy who wants an extra stack of money on top of his already gigantic stack?

Sorry buddy. Floyd lost his hunger. He's heartless.
