Povetkin vs Beck is Close To Done For December 5

Sources close to the situation have informed BoxingScene.com that a heavyweight clash between IBF mandatory contender Alexander Povetkin and Owen Beck is being finalized for December 5 in Germany. The contracts are drawn up and just need to be signed. There shouldn't be any snags as all terms have been agreed to. [details]

Yes, having that moron Atlas as a trainer isn't good for Povetkin.

Because the number of fighters he's ruined far exceeds the number that have gone on to accomplish anything.

I mean, I don't expect Owen to do much of anything in this fight. But it should go a few rounds, and it gives Povetkin some much needed work. He hasn't fought since April, and will have to wait out Wlad-Chambers before finally getting a shot at the real title. Can hardly blame him for taking the fight.

If nothing else, it's a hell of a lot better than Damon Reed or whoever he was supposed to fight last month in B-More.

What a waste of time. Who wants to watch that, let alone pay to see it. How much of a financial hit do all parties involved take on this crap? The fighter most certainly loses the most.

I think you guys should give Atlas a chance before condemning the partnership between him and Povetkin. Who knows?- maybe they'll mesh well together and Povetkin will improve...
