The Super Six - Best Laid Plans Of Mice And Men?

When the Super Six was announced there were a few skeptics (myself included) that thought it was a good idea in theory, but wouldn't come off successfully. It's hard enough to get one fight to go smoothly let alone a whole tournament.

We're not even done with the first round and there's already been one potential pull out from the tournament in Taylor, one controversial decision in Dirrell - Froch, and more controversy before the fight even starts in the Ward - Kessler (and who knows what's to come after the fight)!

What do you think? Just off to a bumpy start and they're still getting the kinks out? or that the end of the tournament won't see the light of day?

I was really surprised 5 differents promoter actually signed the Super6 contract. I was like WTF how much money are they going to put on the tourney that all have agreed.

also it has been said that it should have been a super8, but you cant get everybody in the ring. (like the bantamweight tourney "super4" should have been a super6 with Donaire and Montiel included)

(maybe Bute was not included cuz his last two impressive wins he got were after the tourney was already made)

        3 American vs 3 Europeans.
        it was equally splitted

Ward, Dirrell and Taylor representing the American corner......

a point system tourney is something special, even if you lose you have the chance to win it all.......(maybe that was the deal everybody made to sign that contract beside the huge money, promotional aspect and 2 major belts and the oppertunity for their fighters to make a name plus everybody knew robberies gonne happen)

        first round

Abe KOed in the last 10 sec. Taylor, who pulled out.
Froch got a controversial decision against Dirrell in his hometown.
Ward beat Kessler (on cuts, caused by headbutts)......................

        second round

Abe got DQed because he hit Dirrell while he was down......and got knocked out after a weird sitatuation (Dirrell has postponed the fight)

Ward beat Green who replaced Taylor easily. (Fight has been postponed first fight Ward faced a replacement)

Kessler beat Froch in his hometown. classic war. (Kessler pulled out, Kessler injury)

        3 round

Ward-Dirrell (has been postponed and than Dirrell pulled out, Dirrell injury)
so Ward- TBA(2nd replacement fight) - again an easy fight?

Abraham-Froch (has been postponed, Froch injury)

Green (Taylor replacment) v Johnson ( Kess' replacement)

        Numbers:
3 outta 6 of the chosen fighters left
        with 3 replacements
        4 postponing

I think thats a bit too much for every boxing fans, they started with 6 fighters and there're just 3 left out of the originally chosen one and also fights being postponed plenty of times has been a factor fans protest the situation and some involved fighters.

its still a huge success and the biggest mistake would be to cancel the tourney.

with todays fighters and promoters it was destined to fail especially after a belts changed hands..

Team Dirrell and Ward act in concert to both pull out without litigation risk.

            Dirrell get medical reason...which leave
            Ward no one to fight..

At least we got AA vs Froch on the way it will be entertaining.
Johnson vs Green will be odd Johnson should pull it off.

              good thinks:

cuz of the Super6 at Supermiddleweight we're going to see now:

4 fights in 2 nights- the bantamweight tourney

              the Super6 at Cruiserweight

thats the way we like it, clear the situations who the king in the division is by the best fightin the best without any ducking.

ignominy... deep personal humiliation or disgrace.

                    never heard that word before.
