cotto got knocked down those 2 times for 1 reason and one reason only..the same reason hatton got knocked down and ko'd...trying to prove he was the bigger man..emotions let to his defeat...cotto never fights like that..he got frustrated and pissed and got caught with his chin in the air

Cotto needs to get a better trainer/coach for 2010.
If Pac chooses to fight PBF, Miguel can try to go after Shane/Berto,
or if he wants a lighter tuneup, challenge for Hlatshwayo's IBF strap.
It would be interesting to see a Firepower II down the road.

I talked to Miguels Cousin Earlier today, and said Miguel is pissed at himself, for going toe - toe with Pac. He told me ,Miguel was sayin that when he was boxing Pacquiao, he was winning easy does rounds, but when he decided to go all macho and match punch per punch he made a mistake.


He said Cotto is really angry and eager to heal fast so he can get in the ring as fast as posibble.

From what he told me, the atmosphere wasnt like when Cotto lost to margo that everyody was down and dissapointed, he said that Cotto is really eager to go and kick ass. He is very angry at himself, for choosing the wrong game plan. Cotto is mad and pissed and not dissapointed nor discourage, he looks like a man on a mission. Miguel also said he lost to a great one last saturday, so he will leave it at that.

Awesome info Champ, thanks for sharing. I guess if you talk to his cousin again, see if Miguel has any thoughts of making changes to his team.

And he sounds like he has a fire he hasn't had in a while. I remember a few months back hearing him say that when he retires he's not gonna "hang the gloves up, he's gonna burn them". Good to hear some passion out of him.

Please tell his cousin to tell him that ne needs a new trainer. He can still have joe in his corner but at least get a new voice to give him a new view on what he sees.

Is frustrating to see a talent like Cotto waste such important legacy years having a crappy corner.
