cotto was comeptative before the seventh after that an ass whoopin. ANd he was winning those rounds till the knockdowns I thought the first one could of been a 9-9 round. Cotto followed around a puncher and thats ******. I thought he opened the fight very well then when he got his he threw the gameplan out the f'n window and santiago just sat there and said throw the jab throw the jab. Seriously I could have been in his corner that night I need nice paycheck just to say throw the jab and look f'n ******. Cotto should fire everybody and bring back his uncle or dare I say roach I don't like nacho at all for some reason don't know why. Cotto's career could have been so much different with a good corner it's so frustrating as a fan. I don't care cotto will always be my top five fav. ever.

Did Joe not watch the Manny/Dela fight where Oscar's left eye was almost completely shut from Manny's right hand? Did he not watch the Hatton fight where Manny hurt and dropped Ricky in the first round with a right hand?

Cotto end's up getting dropped two rounds later w/a right hand. Freddie was right about Joe being green. Cotto , if he is gonna continue needs a new trainer. I say Papa Trrinidad..if he wants to stay with a PR..or possibly Goosen, Steward..

Dude, it was a destruction, plain and simple. I mean Cotto landed some shots but he never seriously hurt Pacman, he was target practice.

It was a lopsided ass whoopin. After the 4th the fight was over and even Cotto's father wanted it stopped about the 8th round. Cotto himself said he couldn't go on and wanted to quit in the 10th but his corner talked him out of it.

It was NOT competative.

After Saturday, I think Cotto's done at the elite level. I dunno that for fact. Nobody does til if/when he fights a top fighter again. It's just my opinion. I don't give a **** if his stans like it or not. But if asked I'll explain it. I have in this thread and in others. I don't want him to check out, but I don't see him beatin top fighters no more. I'd rather not see him get hurt.

I totally agree with you he's not an elite fighter anymore and I'm a big fan and I don't want him to get hurt in that ring, the wars he's been in are adding up and he really should just think to take an easy retirement fight go to 35-2 with 28 ko's and call it a day nothing wrong he gave his fans great memories and boxing fans too. Guy was a class act and nothing wrong with his accomplishments. When I meet him at the boxing hall of fame one day I don't want to see him fregin dead to the world like some of the boxers I meet ya know

In my opinion, it was very clear how the fight would end up as early as the second round. I sat there smiling because I knew Manny would win, but my smile gradually disappeared when it became obvious there was no way he could win and he started taking an unnecessary beating.

Either the ref or the corner should have stopped it much earlier than it was, because those kind of beatings can have a bad effect later in life. I understand Cotto felt like he needed to complete the fight for his own pride, but it's not worth trading a healthy life for.
