I'm not going to get into this here. All I will say is that we evolve every generation.

It is foolish to think otherwise

                  Really?

Fighters today as in active vs. retired?

Tommy Hearns, Ray Leonard, SRR, etc. wouldn't be Champions right now at 147?

                  Duran wouldn't be Champion?

Floyd Patterson could have fought in the LH division today...even SMW division if he wanted and won.

There are a list of fighters we could talk about.

let's see now. A greater percentage of quality athletes went into boxing 80 years ago than they do today. Their basic lifestyle was much more difficult than today. We have NOT evolved in three generations; not in the way that applies to boxing. Our training techniques constantly bring back old methods especially what we now call "cross-training." People have been fighting each other for 1000s of years; it's not like basketball, baseball, or football which are relatively new endeavors.

If you would take quality fighters from the 1910s and 1920s and bring them to today; have them fight once every three months, recuperate from their injuries and let them watch video tape of their opponents they would do just fine in our era.

Take modern fighters back to the 1910s and 1920s, have them fight every 2-3 weeks, have no video tape and I think they would struggle.
