Could you imagine how much more tired Hopkins would get with all that extra muscle though?
True enough.
But by then we'll have at least had the opportunity to see Haye at Heavyweight once more, and I can gauge his abilities at that weight much better than I currently can.
As of right now, I'm completely unimpressed with him. He beat an old assed Monte Barret, and ran from Nikolay Valuev for 36 minutes while setting an all time Compubox low when it comes to punch output in a Heavyweight fight.
Can you think of any Heavyweight offhand that has ever won a fight at that weight by throwing 12 punches per round?
And this was against a willing target. He was never in any threat of being hurt because Valuev's punch power is ****, anyway. Plus he was slow as hell with his shots, all night long.
Hopkins ; no matter how old he is, or what weight he's fighting at ; is going to be a tougher challenge for Haye than he's seen in the last few years.
He's not Monte Barrett, he's not Nikolay Valuev, and he's not Enzo Mac.

Hey Bringer dont get me wrong i would love to see this fight and i think Nard would have a great chance at beating Haye, Haye does not impress me that much either, not at HW anyway.
I will try and stick up for Haye a little bit regarding Valuev, Holyfield was asked whats the best way to beat Valuev and he said words to the effect of by fighting a boring fight, it was certainly that lol

Id be rooting for Hopkins over Haye myself.
At this point in his career ; I'm all about Hopkins taking gigantic risks.
And Haye, however unimpressed I've been with his fights at Heavyweight ; is definitely a gigantic risk for the 45 year old Hopkins.
What else does he have to prove, anyway? 'Ya know?
If he wins, it's epic. Just another notch on Bernard's already large belt of accomplishments.
If he loses? Who cares? He's 45, for fuck's sake.
No need to ask me where my loyalties will lie in this one, if it does happen.
