What else does he have to prove, anyway? 'Ya know?

If he wins, it's epic. Just another notch on Bernard's already large belt of accomplishments.

If he loses? Who cares? He's 45, for fuck's sake.

No need to ask me where my loyalties will lie in this one, if it does happen.

I agree with everything that you said, infact its conceivable that Hopkins could knock Haye out. Hopkins is not a big puncher but he is accurate and sneaky. Haye's chin is not that great either so why not.

Hopkins and his big, self-serving mouth

I don't think that Hopkins would have any chance of beating Haye. He's little better than a "spoiler" kind of fighter, and a guy loke Haye would make sure he fought the whole 3 minutes of each rd, something that I don't think Hopkins has been able to do for a good many years.

With Hopkins involved, it would be a lousy fight, I can hardly remember when a Hopkins fight was worth watching, even worse than Mayweather, especially since Mayweather does show considwrable skill, and Hopkins just shows survival rough-and-tumble.

Haye's been dropped by less accurate punchers than Hopkins ; that much is certain.

Bernard will definitely have to slow the pace of the action down to pull it off, IMO.

With his age, and that reoccuring thyroid condition ; his stamina has been "hit or miss" as of late. Against Wright and Calzaghe, his output was less than stellar, but against Pavlik, he was able to really amp up his workrate.

I'm sure some of that has to do with Winky and Calzaghe being more versatile, dynamic fighters than Pavlik, but I think some of it genuinely had to do with his health condition, as well.

The added weight is only going to slow him down more, IMO. But it's also going to put more mustard on his shots, and with his accuracy, it's not entirely impossible that he could stop haye either on cuts, or just on accumulation.

It should be an interesting matchup, if it gets made.

Very interesting fight, I think if Haye can't hurt Hopkins, he'll lose.

If, if, if he wins if Hopkins wins, whats the point of this article. Wishfull thinking.

What if Hopkins made Haye look like Pavlik.

I don't think I'd want Hopkins in there with Haye though. Not at this point.
