I'm delighted that JMM isn't begging for a fight with Hatton. I was bashing him and Nacho for mentioning that fight, but I feel bad about it because it now looks that he's not all that serious about it. And Hatton just said that there is no guarantee that he is coming back. JMM needs to win a couple more fights to try to put the luster back in a trilogy with Pacquiao. I'd like to see JMM fight the Bradley-Petersen winner for a fourth belt.

PAC is so much improved from march 2008 and he hits just as good with his right as his left, PAC would demolish marquez this go round IF It happens. Then factor in they won't fight at 140 and marquez looks like he can't handle that extra weight well at all, don't care if was against 146 pounder or not.pac would put him to sleep by the 6th. Pee pee mouth had trouble against slow motion juan Diaz..
and juan diaz got knocked out so why mention him.marquez gets in trouble
but he also knows how to get out,and not by holding like others.
tell you what .earn some points and if the fight happens ,i will bet you pac doesn't ko marquez.plus i don't think the fight will happen but you never know.Comment

bald marquez is still dreaming of a fight with pac. but this time its impossible. boxing fans will not forgive pac if he goes to fight a shot marquez. marquez should set his eyes on his fellow shot, delahoya and hatton.
that would put him in the limelight again if he get past these two sssssshot... fighters!Comment

Then let's compare your results with JMM's and we'll see who sucks.Comment

Yeah thats what I said. Pac has a bigger frame and naturally carries more muscle. JMM lacks as much capacity and Pac wasn't on a program to maximize his potential before.Comment

Manny Pacquiao is a great fighter with very good footwork and very good punching power. His defense while not a huge defenciency is not a strength. He does have an above average chin as evidenced by the punches he took from Morales & Marquez which wobbled him but did not floor him. The fact is that his chin has not been tested by a real puncher at Welterweight limt of 147. Nonthelessthe chin factor might not be that big of a factor if he fights Mayweather, because Mayweather historicly has not been a big puncher.
Team Pacquiao & Arum have played their cards right when picking oponents (or avoiding certain oponents) as evidenced by the selection of David Diaz. They handpicked the lowest rated/regarded Lightweight Champion at the time, picking the easier matchup for their fighter instead of fighting the higher rated Lightweight Champs whih were tougher matchups. Fact is that starting with the David Diaz fight forward, Arum and Team Pacquiao have done a Mayweather impersenation by not fighting with the toughest/best fighters in a division (lightweight division) , picking the most convinient fights/fighters (post knocked out by PBF Hatton) & luring fighters (in Pacquiao's case welterweights) to fight at catch weights where Pacquiao is fighting at his maximum possible fighting weight thus mazimizing his power while the other fighter has to fight at less than full power due to the weight limitation/restriction (Old Man De La Hoya & Scarred Cotto).
Pacquiao vs Mayweather
The Pacquiao vs Mayweather showdown is a perfect matchup pitting two fighters more concerned with money and fame than proving themselves as the best fighters in their respective weight class. These fighters need to prove their brillance by fighting against the top fighters in their weight class, not by fighting catchweight fights in which they have a physical advantage over other fighters. I would rather see Pacquiao and Mayweahter establish themselves as the top fighters in their respective weight class (not catchweights) first. Then assuming they are able to prove they are the best of the best in their respective weight class, they can fight each other in a bout pitting the best fighters of this era. To label this fight as such is a fraud in my opinion. On one hand, Pacquiao has fought only one fight at Lightweight (against the lowest regarded title holder), one fight at Junior Welterweight (against a faded fighter who had been KO'd in his last big fight) and two catchweight fights above Junior Welterweight (fighters fighting at less than their optimal weight & power). Mayweather has failed to fight the top ranked fighters in the Weterweight class, thus not establishing or proving himself as the best of the best in the Welterweight class. He also used a catchweight fight in which he mislead the other fighter at what weight he would fight in order to have a clear size/power advantage (fight in which he beat clearly whipped Marquez) .
Nontheless the big payday for both fighters will make this fight a Reality. The fight will be at the welteweight limit as Mayweather will not allow Team Pacquiao & Arum put him at the weight disadvantage. The fights pitts one of the best punchers against one of the all-time best defensive fighters. Pacquiao's speed will not be as big an advantage as it was against Old Man De La Hoya or Battle Scarred/Battered Coto. Pacquiao will have to hit Mayweather with some big punches early and truly hurt Mayweather if he plans on winning the fight. Mayweather's speed and counterpunching style will give Pacquiao trouble (just as Marquez speed and counterpunching gave Pacquiao trouble) proving to be the difference in the fight. Not the ideal matchup for Pacquiao in my opinion. Fighters with fast hands and counterpunching skills have given him trouble and Mayweather will give him fits. Pacquiao has to catch Mayweather with a big shot and truly hurt him in order to win. Can Pacquiao find Mayweather's chin and truly hurt Mayweahter? Mayweather's defense carries him to a win by decision.
MARQUEZ VS PACQUIAO
The Reality of the matter is that Marquez gave all Pacquiao all he could handle at Featherweight & Super Featherweight. I also believe Marquez would have given Pacquiao all he could have handled at lightweight if he would have fought him at that weight class.
Marquez vs Pacquiao II Analysis
A Picture (or Video in this case) Is Worth A Thousand Words
If a boxer's face after a fight tells the tale of the fight (think Pacquiao vs Cotto), Marquez was definetly the winner of the Marquez vs Pacquiao II showdown. Pacquiao's face was that of a fighter that had just lost a fight, especially when compared to Marquez face after the fight.
Body Punches Take the Fight out of Fighters and Make Them Retreat
One area that has rountinely been dissmissed and not taken into consideration in the analysis of this sensatioinal fight is the damage Marquez inflicted to the body of Pacquiao and probably the main reason why Pacquiao did not want to face Marquez anytime soon after the fight. The body shots which made Pacquiao wince in pain, really hurt Pacquiao and were surely felt by Pacquiao the following morning. Fact is that the damage of these punches cannot be simply observed by looking Pacquiao's face at the post fight conference (remember the sunglases?).
The Numbers Don't Lie
Let's go to the numbers. Compubox stats... 1) Power Pumnches landed..edge Marquez 2) Rounds won by a bigger margin of punches landed..edge Marquez 3) Rounds in which boxer had edge in power punches ...edge Marquez. 4) Total number of punches landed...edge Marquez.
Pacquiao only one in one category according to Compubox stats.
With respect to punches, Pacquiao edged Marquez by ONE jab....43 vs 42. I guess this is where Pacquiao received the extra point on Miller's score card.
What Did The Fight Experts See
The fact is that the majority of boxing experts gave the fight to Marquez stands on it own. Nontheless two of the judges saw a different fight. Maybe they kept replaying Round One of Pacquiao vs Marquez I over and over in their mind insted of scoring the actual fight at hand...Pacquiao vs Marquez II.
Unrelated Facts Taken Into Consideration By Posters/Fans
The fact of the matter is that many observers/fans base their opinion regarding the Marquez vs Pacquiao fights on one round.....Round One of the Marquez vs Pacquiao I and fail to take into account the other 23 rounds in which Pacquiao fought well but not as well as Marquez.
Pacquiao vs Marquez III
Marquez needs to fight and establish himself at Junior Welterweight first if he wants to get back into the ring with Pacquiao at any weight above lightweight. Proof in case & Steel Balls aside, moving up two weight classes to fight Mayweather was a disaster as Marquez was too slow and not acustomed to the weight (only fight he has clearly been beaten). Another big disadvantage for Marquez......> Age which may also hinder Marquez ability to move up to Junior Welterweight and past Junior Welterweight at this stage in his career. Bottom line is that Arum has always d#cked Marquez around and he would rather see an old Marquez fight Pacquiao, than the Juan Manuel Marquez that pounded Juan Diaz & El Cepillo in the lightweight division. The same Juan Manuel Marquez that gave Pacquiao all he could handle.Comment

Funny guy. Actually Pacquiao fought the slow ass Diaz for the Lightweight title. David Diaz that is. The guy he fought after march 2008 in a pre-planned fight that was announced after the Marquez vs Pacquiao II fight.Comment
